"I would see your marque of authority before putting up my sword. I am sure were our situations reversed, you would do likewise. It would seem you know of us, but we know not of what we are accused."

He keeps his hand away from his sword and his face calm.

It feels like someone is trying to frame us. Or these guards have no authority and are impostors. Either way, I don't like it one bit!

Wembly waits for the guards to respond to Vrald's request.

The lead guard rides forward and hands down a parchment bearing the Satrap's own seal, which Altair recognizes. He also can confirm that the badge of office worn by the leader is correct for Katheer.

He speaks to Belousov, Vrald and the others:

"I hope that this will prove that we are legitimate. As for explaining why you can trust us, that is simply something that you'll have to take on faith. You stand accused of murder, theft, and graverobbing. We are not the ones who have to do explaining. I am not authorized to speak any further on the subject. You must come with us. Rest assured that you will have a chance to address the Satrap yourselves."

"But the good captain here isn't the one doing the setting up. His time is being wasted as much as ours, and I doubt he is pleased. No, it is our lawful duty to submit to his authority in this matter. Our souls are without blemish and our consciences clear. We have nothing to fear but fear itself. The leader looks at Rogar a moment, begins to speak, then catches himself as the others add their comments.

He gives a slight smile.

"Another time, perhaps, my bold Taldan. Your friends are correct, I stand not as your accuser, but merely an agent of the law. But you shall have my name, should you ever need it: I am Garahn Min-Omash, counted among the Peerless."

You are swiflty, but respectfully, escorted to the Satrap's palace. Once there, youl find yourselves housed in the land’s most opulent prison. Your chambers are elegantly appointed, yet the solid iron doors lock from the outside. You are warned that any spellcasting within your rooms will arm a lethal magical trap (an otherwise-inert symbol of death on the ceiling which is shown to you). Your weapons and obvious magic items are removed, but you are otherwise treated with grave courtesy. You aren’t even searched.

The following morning, the Pathfinders are brought before the Satrap’s court:

The Satrap’s court stands within a grand hall, one of the most opulent structures in the Inner Sea. Dozens of courtiers and soldiers line the magnificent hall, the Peerless advisors of the Satrap. In a small alcove off to one side, an executioner sharpens a massive axe, his face covered by a frowning golden mask.

A herald’s voice booms forth, "Pathfinders! You stand accused of murder, theft, and the looting of graves! Come forward and answer for these crimes!" A woman sits on a folding chair beside the herald, her features veiled.

Vrald stands very forward.

"I am Vrald Sehir of Taldane. I say I am no murderer, thief or grave robber and would hear details of the charges against me and those who would speak them. Further I will stand by my colleagues as I have since coming to your fine lands. I don't believe they are the type of people who would do what we are accused of, and I have seen no opportunity for them to have taken such actions even were they so disposed. "

He pauses and looks at the Satrap.

"I would see my accuser and look into his eyes as he lies to you about crimes we have not committed."

The Satrap listens to your declarations. A scribe begins recording when Rogar shares some of the details of your mission so far.

While they speak, opinionated bystanders in the hall attempt to interrupt you with cynical comments and baseless accusations. After listening for a while, an aide pulls out a sheaf of letters and shows them to you.

"Please then, explain yourselves and explain this."

At a glance they appear to be instructions allegedly written to the PCs by their faction leaders. These documents outline a conspiracy to betray the House of Silver, using Farendir as the Society’s pawn. Close examination of the letters by any Pathfinder instantly reveals them to be shoddy forgeries, riddled with misspelled names, mistaken titles, and unlikely phrases.

After you have a chance to read over the letters he says:

"Please, I tire of the honeyed tongues of liars that so often find their way into my court. The truth will set you free, as the wise ones say."

Sorry if that setup was a bit ham-handed. You have a chance to tell your side in as much detail as you like. You'll need to make a Diplomacy check, but there are stiff penalties for lies and huge bonuses for honesty.

EDIT: Shonne notices nothing amiss. No hidden assassins or imminent threats, anyway. I agree with you Belousov as far as what they would have taken. Let's say you've kept your headband.

The Satrap listens to you. His expression sours as Belousov implies he is a nitwit, but he seems persuaded by the passion of your words.

"Perhaps we have been hasty. We will speak with Master Bashir, and I hope he will vouch for your story. It would be rather odd for you to show up here with one of those items after leaving the sorceror's estate..."

"We have no need to come to blows now. Go, and retrieve the missing relics."

You are released and all your belongings are returned to you.

As you make your way out of the palace, a man approaches you.

You recognize him as Master Bashir's nephew, Al’Jahar Abu-Targos (whom you met at the wedding).

"The word of your arrest spread quickly. I am only sorry that we weren't able to act on your behalf."

He offers to heal any injured Pathfinders with a wand that he brought.

"I have some information that should interest you: I witnessed a group of Pathfinders headed north of Katheer, toward the ancient cemetery where the Chapel of Ubaidah Abd Hikmah can be found. The Pathfinders looked exactly like you and it wasn’t until I heard that the you had been arrested in Katheer that I realized they must be imposters. It takes you less than day to reach the chapel site in question.

On a lonely promontory overlooking the sea, the memorial chapel of Ubaidah Abd Hikmah presides over the gravestones of Sarenrae’s faithful. Scoured clean by the restless winds near the sea, many of the stones’ inscriptions are as forgotten as their inhabitants. The forlorn cries of gulls drift on the breeze. The ancient chapel’s iron doors stand closed, but fresh scrapes mar their rusted metal.

The group advances to the door, finding it untrapped and unlocked. They can hear the sounds of hammers and pry-bars from the inside. The Pathfinders have the sense that they have not yet been detected.

Let's not give them too many minutes. Spells and all.

Technic Siege/Full Map

The team completes their scouting. The windows are concealed by heavy drapes that have been drawn shut. The only door is in the front.

Altair steps up and kicks the door in!

Inside you see three figures. One is a man who looks exactly like Pathfinder Faireven The groom.

The next two are both quite large as in the size category. They look like double-sized versions of Vrald and Rogar!

Dice:
Vrald Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Belousov Initiative: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
Altair Initiative: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 3 + 2 = 20
Shonne Initiative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Wembly Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Rogar Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Elf?: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Big Guys: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14

Several Pathfinders are quick on their feet, others not so much.

Round 1:
Belousov
Rogar
Altair
Shonne
Faireven?
Big Guys?
Wembly
Vrald

Altair moves to where we can use the benches for cover and tries to stab at the large version of Vrald.

Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Sneak Attack: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4) = 6

"Weeell... so much for stealth, eh?" exclaims Rogar following Altair inside the hall then stopping as he notices the large verion of himself looming over the sylph...

"When did I grow up so much?" he says, apparently puzzled.
