Seherab Menedes Glyphkeeper |
Yeah, I finally got internet back this morning and then had to wait another hour for Paizo to get back up and running.
Seherab Menedes Glyphkeeper |
Heading off to GenCon and won't be able to post much for the rest of the week-weekend. I know Tek will be there too but just wanted to alert everyone that I might not be around until next week.
Seherab Menedes Glyphkeeper |
Yep, me either. Come find the Tek/EF duo next year, Rob!
Teos Oldwise |
I will be flying tomorrow, and on a work trip until the 20th. I will have internet, but my expediency in posting may suffer.
Thanks!
Seherab Menedes Glyphkeeper |
Since it's 1-2 I will apply the chronicle to Skip Flaxseed (#55162-21). He's also my only level 1 not counting Melody Flaxseed, who's committed to Emerald Spire likely for the duration of her career. I guess I need a new level 1 already but I can't decide what to make.
Harkuf Tombguard |
Tektite, please apply this to 64554-10. Not sure what I want to make - but I've always wanted to try a mystic theurge
Seherab Menedes Glyphkeeper |
@Pirate: hope everything is ok!
I changed my mind; apply this to 55162-23 Harun al-Rashid. I need to keep Skip level 1 for Rah's halflinder society.
Seherab Menedes Glyphkeeper |
No, Qadiran sultan.
Harun al-Rashid was a real Arabic leader who features heavily in Tales of the Arabian Nights, which I've been working my way through. I've also got a bard named Shahrazad, who is the main story-teller of the Tales.
Harkuf Tombguard |
Huh, my brawler that I'm going to use this credit for (ditching the mystic theurge idea for now) is named Dalton Bodhi - Patrick Swayze's characters from Roadhouse and Point Break. So, not quite the cultural cachet of Harun al-Rashid, but still.
Pirate Rob |
Thank you for the kind wishes. It may be several weeks (or more) till things are back to normal enough around here for me to keep up with pbps, so please feel free to continue without me, or whatever else needs to be done.
My sister was diagnosed with terminal cancer about 3 years ago and given a prognosis of likely less than a year. She's done remarkably well until this last week when she had to be hospitalized. We're not sure how long she has left, but I am doing what I can to help take care of our mother and her kids.
Harkuf Tombguard |
Oh dear, I wish you and your family the best.

With the update to "Google Sheets" (ugh), the links on the LOOT sheet aren't working right. It just takes me to my "Sheets" page that shows ALL the spreadsheets in my Drive or that I have ever looked at. Could someone fix that if possible?
Seherab would like to (potentially) sell his armor and a weapon or two to get masterwork versions if we have the gold to do so.
Teos Oldwise |
That's weird; it opens for, even when I'm signed out of both Paizo and docs. I have no answer for you.
I am happy to handle the bookkeeping though; I've been told my sheet is indecipherable. ;)
Teos Oldwise |
I currently have Seherab listed as having:
Seherab Armor, Akhentepi's (Padded) (+1 stanching armor (stops up to 1 bleed); 1/day +3 on initiative. AC 2. ACP 0. 8 dex. 5% failure. Light.)
Seherab Armor, Studded Leather
Weapon, Light Mace
Weapon, Short Bow
Weapon, Short Sword
Weapon, Dagger
What would you like to sell? What do you want to upgrade (we can just buy masterwork transformations. This isn't pfs - unless you want to change materials of course. :)
I'm recalculating money now; it comes to about 1544 for the four of use, so on the order of ~300 - 400 each. Teos doesn't particularly need anything right now, and can do without (Yay monks!) - if you guys want masterwork something, go for it.

The idea about keeping the mummified guardian is interesting. I can definitely see your angle. Here are my objections from a bookkeeping standpoint:
-It's 3500 gp. Selling it doubles our party wealth.
-Using it requires a coffin or box. Which maybe isn't that big of a deal; we are dwarves after all :)
-we can get much the same effect with a scroll or two of gentle repose (although only the oracle can use it).
Seherab Menedes Glyphkeeper |
Yeah, that's fine, we can sell the mummified cat. It just always hurts me a little to sell AP-specific items because they're usually kinda unique and fun (although admittedly not always useful). Like that padded armor; it's not as good AC-wise as my studded leather but I'm having trouble parting with it. I can't decide if it's worth the -1 AC to put it on for it's other abilities.
For now I'll definitely get a mwk transformation on my shortsword and leave it at that. I'll wait for your opinion(s) on my armor before doing anything there.
Seherab Menedes Glyphkeeper |
Oh, and I actually do like your sheets although they have a bit of a learning curve. I'm not sure why the links just take me to a list of my many many spreadsheets but I'll play around with it later.
Teos Oldwise |
I'm just giving you my breakdown. I have no personal investment one way or the other. We can keep the cat... after all, Kitty!
Seherab Menedes Glyphkeeper |
Neh, the cat's a little more icky than the armor, which is actually a little more useful. Like you said, we can replicate any benefit we'd get from the cat with a couple scrolls. The armor would be a hit to AC but it'd give me a few other (small) benefits that might be worth it for a level or two.
But I think in the end we should sell it. I'll keep my studded leather for now and just masterwork my shortsword.
Teos Oldwise |
Oh, hey, we have a 3rd level druid now who can cast Mwk. transformation for us! Handy!
So, I went through with a finer tooth comb and it turns out we have a lot more money after selling a few magic items that aren't really useful for this group.
After the transformation on the sword, selling the cat mummy and armor we still have 6900 left over. I recommend casters build up their scroll libraries.
I don't really know what an investigator needs. We could get a headband for one of the casters - never a bad investment, more spells, high DC's and whatnot.
We also have a heavy adamantine flail (which we should probably keep) and a +1 light crossbow. Does someone want the crossbow?
Seherab Menedes Glyphkeeper |
Oh! And I really need mwk thieves' tools (100 gp).
I'm proficient in crossbows so I might as well keep the magical one and sell my shortbow (worth 30 gp). I've also got 15 cold iron arrows that can be sold for 2 sp and 3 cp if my math is right.
Then I'll buy:
And if we've still got enough, I'd like to make my studded leather masterwork for 150 gp.
That should be it for now! I don't really know what to get an investigator either except nicer weapons and armor/AC boosters (my AC is pretty pitiful and I don't have many HP). Eventually a belt and headband would be nice but those can wait.
Teos Oldwise |
Hrrrm. +2 pipe of inspired revelation; adds +2 to all inspiration rolls and all living creatures gain the scent ability versus user for 1 hour.
If Seherab is working towards a mithral shirt we could just buy that. No big thang...
Seherab Menedes Glyphkeeper |
Yeah, that would be nice too. Also, I haven't looked through the ACG items yet, I'm sure there are more investigator specific ones. Anything boosting skills would be welcome!
Teos Oldwise |
Pfft, Seherab, we already bought you a set of masterwork tools. Are you laundering them on the side? :D
Heh, so apparently the designers are ahead of us:
PRICE 9,000 GP

AURA faint conjuration and divination
This long-stemmed, wooden pipe can burn any number of substances, but is primarily used for smoking tobacco. The pipe smoker can command a small, smoky servant to emerge from the pipe to do minor tasks. The servant can move or fetch small objects, and in general acts as an unseen servant, except that it is visible as a small, wispy cloud of gray smoke. Additionally, the servant is capable of clearing one 5-foot square of smoke or fog per round. The servant can be used for up to 1 hour per day; this time doesn’t need to be continuous, but must be used in 10-minute increments.
An investigator gains some additional benefits while smoking the pipe. He can use inspiration on Survival checks to track or Perception checks to notice fine details without spending a use of inspiration. Additionally, once per day he can attempt a Knowledge check as if he had the eidetic recollection investigator talent.
CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS COST 4,500 GP Craft Wondrous Item, guidance, unseen servant
Anyways:
silver weapon blanch x2 (10 gp)
ghost salt (200 gp)
adamantine weapon blanch (100 gp)
mithral shirt (1100 gp)
Also, we have 5 extra cold iron bolts. You get those too (55 total)

OK, so I took the liberty of spending cash to build us a scroll library for "what if" situations:
Harkuf can Cast and should take these
scroll of feather step, 4
Ankhef can Cast and should take these
scroll of remove curse
scrolls of remove paralysis 2
scrolls of remove fear 2
scrolls of sanctify corpse, 2
scroll of remove blindness
Harkuf or Ankhef can cast
scrolls of lesser restoration, 2 (I think Ankhef should carry)
scrolls of remove sickness, 2 (I think Ankhef should carry)
scroll of daylight (I think Harkuf should carry)
This leaves us about 3576 in stuff for Ankhef, Harkuf and the snake!
I say we buy something nice for the snake...
Harkuf Tombguard |
I like the idea of getting those scrolls. What do you need me to cast masterwork transformation on?
-I'll spend 300 to cast it on my quarterstaff
And we can wait before getting anything nice for the snake, he's gonna grow next level.
Assuming the amount of loot we find increases, would a handy haversack be appropriate? Or should we wait for it.
I'll admit, I'm having a hard time thinking of stuff to get, I'm just not that creative a thinker.

The MW Xformation is on Seherab's sword.
Given the prevalence of traps, anything for perception or disabling is awesome.
Druids kind of end up being the "I spot the left handed kink in that guy's nose hair from 100 yards" anyways - why don't we grab you eyes of the eagle and you can be our duly appointed perception monkey.
I think that would probably conclude outfitting for now.
Harkuf Tombguard |
Almost done updated Harkuf and Jafar. I realized that I gave Jafar the 'Improved Natural Attack' feat back for 2nd level. He doesn't qualify for it yet, so I switched it out for Dodge. Sorry about that.

I hesitate to say it because I feel like I'm hogging all the loot this time around but Seherab now has Trap Spotter so eyes of the eagle would be nice for him. If we get some now Harkuf can keep them but next time around that would probably be a good investment for Seherab.
Seherab Menedes Glyphkeeper |
Ok, I'll add them to his stats later. It would make sense for you (and anybody else who wants) to get a pair later too. Nothing wrong with an all-around high Perception party just in case I miss something!
