Bethany Carpenter
Already panting from the pain Bethany's grin grows even wider as she advances on the closest attacker. As the hammer draws back she begins to giggle louder and louder. Finally screaming as she swings.
"I WARNED YOU!"
Raging Earthbreaker: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Damage: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (3, 3) + 5 = 11
Bethany Carpenter
Her grin widens as she looks down the tunnel, laughing.
Vors Orcblood
Vors ain't dead, he still has 2 hp. And Vors is half-orc, not human.
"Aaa!" The half-orc shouts in pain as a arrow enters his side. Still ready to kick some butt, Vors advances on the archer.
Rapier: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Confirming: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 Don't know if an 18 hits. if so, x2 Dmg.
Dmg.: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
DM Nex
I meant we skipped the dead kobold from last turn. The half human thing was because he has favored Enemy human. So he only really cares about that half :)
It does crit!
Vors rapier pierces the kobold though the midsection.
Round 2
Verik, Brynn, Vors <- Magicy next
Kobold Leader
Grilnik, Bethany
Verik you are about 55 feet from him and he currently has some cover from you
Verik Skintail
Verik flicks his hand,
Verik says something to the Kobold before a dagger of energy flies from his had, flying around the wall, ignoring anything I'm it's path by simply veering around it.
Magic Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
It then strikes the kobold, blasting it's side with force
DM Nex
As the bolt of energy strikes the kobold in the chest he takes a step backwards.
He pulls back his bow and fires at Vors.
Shortbow: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Damage: 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
This arrow brings down Vors. Vors falls to the ground.
Round 2
Verik, Brynn, Vors
Kobold Leader
Grilnik, Bethany
The kobold starts to chuckle with a mix of a hiss and a click.
Grilnik Urist
WELP, there's the reason I saved the area heal xD
Grilnik looks to Vors and then back to the kobold; he steps up after the beardless son of a lizard and swings his hammer again.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 6) + 3 = 12
Bethany Carpenter
Not in the mental state Bethany doesn't even glance at Vors as he falls instead rushes forward grinning ear to ear hammer behind her. When she gets close she swings in a big arch to the side trying to drive the creatures left ribs out its right side.
Raging Earthbreaker: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (4, 5) + 5 = 14
Vors Orcblood
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Vors balks as another arrow enters his body. As the half-orc falls, Vors mumbles, "...S#!t"
As light dims before his eyes, Vors sends a silent prayer to Cayden Cailean.
I swear...if you let me live...I'll become..your..priest.........
Bethany Carpenter
One of you with higher initiative better step in front of Bethany if you want it alive. Her blood is up.
Grilnik Urist
Yay! I'll Calming Touch for maximum RP!
Vors Orcblood
Con check: 1d20 + 1 - 6 ⇒ (17) + 1 - 6 = 12
It's a miracle! Vors stabilized!
Damn! What a roll! I guess Cayden wants his cleric!
Verik Skintail
Verik comes around the corner, considering knocking the Kobold out while they tied it up.
attack (unarmed): 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19
Unarmed(Non-lethal): 1d2 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
Crit Confirm: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
His frail fist hitting the Kobold's face firmly
Incredibly Suprised that even hit in the first place
He makes sure he puts himself between the Kobold and the barbarian.
DM Nex
Verik walks forward, speaks something in a strange language and slugs the Kobold. Who's eyes seem to roll back in its head. It passes out right on the floor in front of you.
Technically it had 1 hp left so 0 hp would have made it disabled, but the ratfolk wizard hitting him (with a nat20) was too good not to fudge the 0hp rule
Verik Skintail
Verik cracks his knuckles, smiling, ah, Wonderful! he turns to the others smiling, If I'm correct, he should wake up in a few minutes with a headache
Luckily Non-lethal only makes it unconscious at 0
Edit:oops, ued my DM profile XD
Bethany Carpenter
WHhen Verik steps between Behtany checks the upcoming swing and drops her hammer. Taking a deep breath she leans against the wall and bows her head so her bangs hand in front of her breathing deep.
"I did warn them."
Grilnik Urist
Grilnik touches Bethany and magically dissolves her fatigue.
"We have a prisoner now, can you tie it up?"
Grilnik then goes to check on Vors.
"Vors stopped bleeding out, let's gather so I can mend everybeard at once."
Grilnik looks south down the tunnel "...Brynn?"
Bethany Carpenter
"Thank you. Sorry about that, sure I can tie him up though the rope is a big long, maybe a leash."
Survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 If its needed.
Finally taking stock of her surroundings she winces. "Sorry guys. I should have moved faster I guess."
Bullseye Brynn
. "No need to worry over me, Grilnik. I took care of myself." Brynn calls out as she hurries over. Her clothes are wet with her own blood and there's a big hole in shoulder of her top where did was shot. She seem in good health.
Grilnik Urist
"Oh, glad that you're well. We'll definitely need more healing supplies."
"Anyway, I'm going to heal everyone still alive, so I think we can start interrogating our beardless prisoner right away." Grilnik presents his holy symbol and holy light pours out over everyone nearby.
Healing: 1d6 ⇒ 1
lol, well at least it's enough to stabilize someone...
Bullseye Brynn
Seeing Vors is still not conscious Brynn raises an eyebrow.
Is that it? Seriously?
Bethany Carpenter
Expecting the healing wave to wash over her she shrugs when it is more of a splash.
She stays with the prisoner unsure how to help and just glares at him as he wakes up.
Assuming the one point will be enough to wake him.
"Answer my friends questions or its more of the hammer."
Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Grilnik Urist
it removes one point of lethal and one of non-lethal, so if 2 knocks him out, he'll wake up with "1" point of magic healing for sure :D
My healing felt weaker than usual, I must be too upset to focus correctly.
Grilnik stops frowning and turns to the beardless one.
"Let's start with what you know about these tunnels." Grilnik indicates the roof and one wall with his longhammer.
Verik Skintail
Verik pulls out his pipe and lights it with a spell. Ah... So the mage hires you to take down the tower, and admist the digging a cave in occurs and he dies... Whelp, mystery solved, eh? he eyes the Kobold, still very much suspicious
Bullseye Brynn
Brynn scoffs aloud; an uncharacteristic sounds coming from her. She doesn't contribute to the conversation or interrogation, instead she keeps her eyes on the hallways, watching for more kobolds or ambushes.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Vors Orcblood
it removes one point of lethal and one of non-lethal, so if 2 knocks him out, he'll wake up with "1" point of magic healing for sure :D
I'm still at -5. I'm stabilized but, not conscious until I get some more powerful healing magic or 5 days bed rest. So until then, I'll just continue to lay here..with 2 arrows sticking out of me.
Bullseye Brynn
If I shove his tongue inside the empty potion vial can I heal him 1 hp out of pity? Haha. I've got no other way to help you, Vors, but Brynn feels your pain! Damned neglectful healers!
Feeling bad for Vors, Brynn goes over and attempts to remove the arrows pincushioning him, yanking them out as delicately as she can. She takes her empty potion vial and tries to shake the last drips into his mouth.
Grilnik Urist
lol, I can try to treat him, but the action takes an hour...
"Interesting that one of the kobolds was cooked at his front door in it was a friendly operation, wouldn't you say Verik?"
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Grilnik notices Brynn take the arrows out of Vors. "Ah, thanks for getting that started Brynn. Do you guys want to hang around here for an hour? It'll take some time for me to bind his wounds properly, but I don't think I can get him walking before tomorrow..."
He definitely can't, healing with treat deadly wounds would be 0 or 1 or 4. Sorry Vors QQ
DM Nex
You can tell she is telling you the truth, but she is leaving something out of her story. She is being somewhat loyal and avoiding saying certain things.
She looks back and forth. Waiting for some idea of what to say next.
Brynn, you don't detect anything odd. Down the west tunnel there is a faint smell of an old fire. The tunnel north has the faintest breeze.
Not sure if it matters, but as soon as you all rest for the night you all level. Normally I wait till everyone sleeps, but technically that fight got you all to level 2. How I deal with this at the table is you all get access to all the new things you gain at the new level, but don't regain all the used things. And prepared casters need to prepare new slots. SO Grilnik can pray and get access to new slots (if you continue with cleric).
Bethany Carpenter
Still standing behind their captive Bethany realizes her wounds are not quite as bad as she had thought. She feel.. stronger following the recent fight.
She lets her hammer tap on the round right behind the captive.
Verik Skintail
Verik sighs. Look, Out if logic, I would say that you where payed for this Right? Well, who's gonna pay you now? After all, there is no reason to be loyal to a dead man. He's not gonna pay you anyways, and any secrets he had will eventually be discovered, so why bother hiding them yourself? And besides that, what makes you think lieing to us will keep you alive? Verik asks this, placing the end of his quarterstaff on the Kobold's chest. After all, we both know that unless you give us good reason, we all are more than willing to end your life...
Grilnik Urist
Grilnik straightens suddenly.
"My beard is tingling, I'll be by the rubble praying for guidance. Please finish questioning the prisoner without me..."
Grilnik goes around the corner to pray.
iirc, normally I'd need 15 to 60 minutes to meditate, so Grilnik will be AWOL for a little bit.
DM Nex
The kobold looks at Verik.. 'What? Um.. Our leader was paid already.. We didn't mean to kill him! It was an accident. Roaghaz get mad at us.. We think of stealing your stuff to get his forgiveness. Why we attack. We wanted to go, go home." He looks over to the north tunnel.
"We have no secrets... well none that I can think of now.. Should I think of secrets? You don't know my favorite color! That is secret"
Yeah, for the % of your spells I would say it would take about 30 minutes to get that extra spell slot.
Bethany Carpenter
"Somewhere else? Back above ground you mean?"
If that is the case Bethany will ask someone else to take the rope so she can stay behind their captive with her hammer.
Bullseye Brynn
With an exasperated sigh Brynn stalks over to the kobold. "Enough yammering. Tell us everything you know about the kobold camp, it's members and it's protocols. Do it now."
Intimidate: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Brynn seems in an unnaturally foul mood.
Bethany Carpenter
Piping in from behind.
"Where it is too, right?"
Bullseye Brynn
"Right." Brynn adds with a stern nod.
DM Nex
Man.. my internet is awful at this house.. Super fast when its not randomly disconnecting. Lost my post..
"Through that tunnel. Goes long way. Ends in hole where humans dig for metals. Somewhere there is lair"
"Protocols? Lots of kobolds. traps... more kobolds"
"Can I go now?" Looking up at all of you. Excited look on her face.
Bullseye Brynn
Brynn sighs, clearly out of patience. "How many kobolds? Of them, how many are warriors? How many traps? Where are the traps, and what are they?"
DM Nex
Looking over at Brynn, somewhat scared of her intensity, "I don't know. I don't keep track of our men. I am just a hunter. I don't even manage the traps, I just bring them food most of the time. Defend the tribe."
Looking at the group, "Do you plan on letting me go at all? Because if you don't I am done talking"
Bullseye Brynn
Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Brynn scoffs, clearly unimpressed with the lack of information. She shakes her head and wanders off, watching the halls warily with her bow in hand. She leaves the decision of what to do with the kobold to the others.
Bethany Carpenter
Bethany shrugs and looks at the others. Clearly she is not anxious to kill a bound prisoner.
Diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 11
"I think he knows more. Why not just tell us then it is easy to let you go, I don't really want to smash you but I guess I will if I have too."
