Hello everyone! I'm looking forward to meeting those of you I don't know, and continuing to have fun with those I do!
To those who haven't met Alathea in game, feel free to read her profile. The spoilered information is game stats and knowledge that you won't (yet) know in character, but I don't mind if you read it if you don't mind either.

a'mar. i made did some changes to the warder. it is no longer a PrC, but instead a template.
and i also made the change that the armsman has the same feat progression as the pathfinder fighter. so a bonus feat at every even level.
Warder:
+2 enhancement bonus to Strength (Stronger)
+1 hp per level (stacks with toughness) (Tougher)
+5' bonus to speed (Faster)
+2 to all saving throws against weaves and abilities of shadowspawn and darkfriends. (Darkfriend is defined as someone who has sworn oaths to the Dark One)
(to balance these abilities I have increased the penalty to what happens if the bond holder dies. In addition to d4 per level damage, the warder must make a Will save dc equal to the channeler's level +5 or become consumed with finding their own death. Care in another channeler's hands for a full month can give a second save.)

wow those looks strangely similar to the ones someone else...who shall remain nameless...came up with in Jonasty's game :-P lol just messing with you a bit Rizzen :-)

I don't have the book in front of me here at work but they should definitely get the Scent ability right off the bat. I can't remember if they get it but if they dont they should.

You are right, Fiallain, Rhoekk used the Algai’d’siswai class from the Under the Dragon Banner web book, which is much truer to the source material in my opinion. Rizzen brought the book to my attention, so I know that it is an approved source.
Rizzenmagnus, on this topic, since a few characters are needing redesigns, I wanted to bring up an idea. As Rhoekk is a Red Shield, I was wondering if I could adapt a version of the Theif Taker prestige class to represent the Aiel keepers of the peace. Some changes would be needed, such as the Theif Taker using a Sword Breaker, which is not an Aiel Weapon, but I was thinking it could be replaced with Improved Grapple. I think that this kind of build would represent what I was going for with the character better than what I have now.
Cool. With Rizzen's permission, I will change over to that version of the algai class. I was trying to find a way to make those 2 levels relevant again, since her becoming a wise one and losing her spears pretty much took away all her non-channeling combat utility. The hand fighting alone would make up for a great deal, and like you said, fits the Aiel better anyway. :)
also, in my campaign, Rhoekk and i worked out a tweak to the Aiel Spear. I will post the info below.
rhoekk said: I think that the Aiel spear should basically use the Rapier stats. It's a martial weapon, not an exotic, and it fits the flavour and use of the Aiel spear much better in my opinion. It is small, fast, sharp but not bladed thrusting weapon designed to kill by piercing an enemy's internal organs. Both the Handaxe (which is equivalent to the Aiel Spear) and the Rapier are Martial, so there is no real change in overall power level.
Current Stats: Damage: 1d6 Critical: x3 Range 30 ft
Proposed Stats: Damage 1d6 Critical: 18-20 Range 30 ft
i agreed with the above, but made a slight change.
The aiel spear is considered a martial weapon to someone who is Aiel. Anyone else it is considered an exotic weapon
thanks. She was born with the hernia in her belly button, and the docs thought that it would heal over time. She's 4 now, and it hasnt, so my daughter will have a small smiley face under her belly button from the surgery. LOL

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Ok, here is my version of the Aethen Dor (Red-Shield) Prestige class. The class is based off of the WoT Thief Taker class as it plays a similar roll within Aiel Society. It basically sticks to the original Thief Taker PrC, but substitutes unarmed or grappling abilities for the Thief Taker’s weapon abilities.
Skills: Acrobatics, Bluff, Climb, Craft, Diplomacy, Disable Device, Disguise, Escape Artist, Intimidate, Perception, Profession, Sense Motive, Slight of Hand, Stealth, Swim, Survival.
Skills are the same as Theif Taker (converted to PF), with the addition of Survival, cause hey, Aiel.
Skill Points at each level: 6 + Int modifier.
Level BAB Fort Ref Wis Def Rep Special
1 +1 +0 +2 +0 +1 +0 Hard to Fool, Traps, Sneak Attack 2d6
2 +2 +0 +3 +0 +2 +1 Unarmed Combat, Scout’s Charge
3 +3 +1 +3 +1 +2 +0 Greater Grapple, Special Ability
4 +4 +1 +4 +1 +2 +1 Skirmisher, Sneak Attack 4d6
5 +5 +1 +4 +1 +3 +0 Weapon Specialization
6 +5 +2 +5 +2 +3 +1 Uncanny Dodge (+1 vs. Traps), Rapid Grappler
7 +6/1 +2 +5 +2 +4 +0 Sneak Attack 6d6, Special Ability
8 +6/1 +2 +6 +2 +4 +1 Uncanny Dodge (+2 vs. Traps)
9 +7/2 +3 +6 +3 +4 +0 Bonus Feat
10 +7/2 +3 +7 +3 +5 +1 Sneak Attack 8d6, Special Ability
BAB, Saves, Defense bonus, and reputation are unmodified from Thief Taker.
Hard to Fool (Ex): Once per day the Red Shield can roll two dice while making a Sense Motive Check, and take the better result. Use of this ability must be declared before making the Sense Motive Check. The Red Shield May use this ability one additional time per day at level 5, and a third time at level 10.
This ability replaces the Theif Taker’s Brotherhood contacts, as it does not make sense for an Aiel. It is a standard Rogue talent from Pathfinder, and seems an appropriate substitution given the nature of the class.
Unarmed Combat: The Aethen Dor’s PrC Levels stack with any levels of Algai’d’siswai for the purpose of determining Unarmed damage. In addition they
receive the Improved Disarm Feat, even if they would not normally meet the prerequisites.
These abilities replaces Exotic Weapon Proficiency, as Algai’d’siswai already receive proficiency in all Aiel weapons. This works well with the theme of Red Shields being police who grapple and must be able to capture foes alive.
Scout’s Charge: Whenever the Aethen Dor makes a Charge, his attack deals sneak attack damage as if the target where flat footed. Foes with Uncanny Dodge are immune to this ability.
Skirmisher: Whenever a scout moves more that 10 feet in a round and makes an attack action, the attack deals sneak attack damage as if the target was flat footed. If the scout makes more than once attack this turn, this ability only applies to the first attack. Foes with Uncanny Dodge are immune to this ability.
These abilities replace Uncanny Dodge and Improved Uncanny Dodge respectively. The come from the Scout Archetype for the Pathfinder Rogue which also substitutes them for the same abilities, and thus maintains the balance of the feature. The substitution is there as Algai’d’siswai already receive these abilities. This substitution fits the class quite nicely as it demonstrates the rapid movement typical of the Aiel way of fighting, and as this is the only Aiel class so far to have a Sneak Attack, it is the only possible class that could benefit.
Greater Grapple (Feat) This replaces the Capture ability of the Thief Taker with a similarly themed feat that instead improves grappling ability.
Rapid Grapple (Feat) This replaces the second Exotic Weapon feat of the Thief Taker with a feat that instead improves grappling ability.
I'd have liked to sub out the trap stuff as well, but I figured that if any Aiel were familiar with evading traps, it would probably be the guys following suspects on the run, who may have left traps to guard their trail.
I believe this balances right on par with the original class, so let me know what you think.

Also, jasmine, jed, ryland, fia, alathea, litheene, and jasper, all go up 1 level.
Thanks! I've got Alathea leveled up. I feel kind of like she shouldn't have taken another level of Aes Sedai as she still isn't raised, but level 6 of Wilder just doesn't come with any cool stuff like the extra affinity that level 3 Aes Sedai comes with.
Good luck to your daughter, and best wishes as alderman!
Work has been rather hectic for me the past two weeks, but I'm hoping things will slow down enough for me to start posting again (I post at work because at home I have to deal with a baby and I don't really like to jump online). But next week (starting this Saturday) I'll be on vacation and without Internet at all.
So I won't be around, and I still haven't update my character! I hope it doesn't cause too many problems. Feel free to DMPC Jed, or ASPC (Aes Sedai PC) if Jasmine wants to take control of him. I'll be back well-rested in a week, and hopefully will have some more time to quickly update my character and get a good post in here and there!

[Air, Earth, Fire, Water, Spirit] (Lost)
Level: 3
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: See text
Duration: Concentration
Saving Throw: None
Weave Resistance: No
This weave allows a channeler to detect the
use of either saidin or saidar, depending
on their sex. Female channelers can detect
the male use of saidin, while male
channelers can detect a female using
saidar.
The channeler may determine whether the
opposite power has been embraced or
channeled within the area of effect. They
may not ascertain the strength of the
power, nor the direction or location of the
channeler.
Use of this weave requires a great deal of
concentration and can be very taxing on
the channeler. A Concentration check (DC
of 20) is required each round to maintain
this weave. Failure means the channeler
must drop the weave and suffers a -4
circumstance penalty to all skill/ability
checks for a number of rounds equal to the
time the weave was held. If the weave was
held for four rounds prior to a failed
concentration check, then the channeler
suffers the penalty for four rounds.
The range at which a channeler can sense
the One Power in the opposite sex is 50 ft
radius circle per channeler level.
Well, I really hate to say it, but I think I'm going to have to drop this game... I was recently promoted at work, which is where I used to do the majority of my posting, but with my new responsibilities I just don't have that time (and it just isn't ethically okay anyway).
I had a very, very fun time with you all and I'm sorry I won't get to play with all the rest of you. And Jasmine, you were the perfect Aes Sedai to my Warder! It's been a blast!
Jed, it truely was a pleasure in gaming with you. I encourage you to keep an eye on the game, and enjoy what you read. Since Jed was a PC, and is now an NPC guarding Jasmine, I have no problem with you suddenly stepping in and making a random posting.
That said, Jasmine, if you could, please make an entry into your character profile listing Jed's info. Since we have no set XP award system for this game, instead giving xps out after critical events and end of storybooks, then i see no reason to move Jed from the PC XP advancement to the npc hireling xp advancement.
Thanks for the kind words everyone. I'll make an attempt at lurking, and if things turn around I may step back in eventually. I never did get around to leveling Jed, but I had planned on reworking him to be an Armsman 9 with the Warder template if you decide to go ahead and level him up.
Jed, thanks a lot for the time playing with us, it was very fun. I hope you suceed well at your new task, and enjoy it.
Best of luck :)
On another note - sorry for the disappearance, I had to unexpectedly move an apartment, which is not fun. I'll level now and get back to the game ASAP. I see a few very interesting things (for Litheene) going on there.
It would appear that between my work trip and Gencon that I completely allowed this game to slip through the cracks. I apologize for this entirely. When I have a chance I'll get caught back up on things. I apologize once again.
