The creature’s ink was blood red when underwater, and the fact that it lost most of its coloration when exposed to air didn’t mean that the ink was suddenly black. “A squid’s ink” would be more apt, and he didn’t understand why the incorrect saying persisted.
Pallemi is right and he is so brave for speaking the truth.

Quite enjoyed that detail as well, being someone who can also be sidetracked by such tangents xD
Over all quite enjoyed the writeup, too! Pallemi is definitely high on my list of favorite iconics based on mannerisms, personality, and general outlook. Just wanting to do as much good as he can!
I would 1000% enjoy an Odd-Couples style montage between him and Sepri in the library and their banter, too ;P
That was a fun story, and it answered a question I had about how Engraving Strike works!
This was a really good fiction. I really enjoy this Iconic. I need more Paizo Fiction!!!!
