So... I was watching this video made by Psi Prime Productions (if you don't know who that is, I recommend checking him out, he makes some great videos for Pathfinder/Starfinder 2e, including build and setting idea guides):

Paizo Live! September 2025

It's basically him summarizing the Paizo Live! for September.
One thing he noted, and the reason I made this thread, was that during the live, the presenters got hung up in how, in the art of the GM Core on page 234, Obo is losing her sandwich, and started throwing out ideas for

A Sandwich Artisan Background and
A Sandwich Witchwarper Paradox

Anyone else want to take a crack at homebrewing this? If so, I'll go first:

Sandwich Artisan:
You have dedicated yourself to the art of Sandwich making. From baking the bread that will hold it all together, concocting the perfect combination of sauces, finding the most delicious vegetables, to sourcing the most scrumptious cuts of meat (or faux meat, for the vegetarians). Some might see this as a making you a one-note chef, but your deep dive into sandwich making has given a more diverse set of culinary skills then most would expect.

Choose two attribute boosts. One must be to Dexterity or Wisdom, and one is a free attribute boost.
You’re trained in the Society skill and the Cooking Lore skill. You gain the Streetwise skill feat.

Sandwich Paradox:

You've realized that reality is much like a sandwich: a layered complex combination of mineral, chemical, vegetable, and animal forms. Now, the reality itself has become your kitchen.
Tradition: Primal
Paradox Skill: Cooking Lore

...Not sure what to do regarding Paradox Spells, Warp Spells, and Quantum Field though.

Feedback appreciated.

PF2 has a ton of Material for this.

The Cook Background from PF2 would be good starting point:

Quote:

You grew up in the kitchens of a tavern or other dining establishment and excelled there, becoming an exceptional cook. Baking, cooking, a little brewing on the side—you’ve spent lots of time out of sight. It’s about time you went out into the world to catch some sights for yourself.

Choose two attribute boosts. One must be to Constitution or Intelligence, and one is a free attribute boost.

You're trained in the Survival skill, and the Cooking Lore skill. You gain the Seasoned skill feat.

Seasoned might already be enough to Craft Alchemical Food. And it is in SF2 PC.

There is the whole Wandering Chef Alchemical Archetype.

Tian Xia Elemental medicine could also be a starting point, since it has a "Taste" row.

Kingmaker has the whole Camping Subsystem, which includes Recipes. I could have sworn I saw sandwiches there, but I can't locate them.

I like the saying "Cooking is chemistry for hungry people". Which naturally would also be true for Alchemy.

Look, hear me out. Cooking is a good general lore skill, but we also have tea, coffee, and alcohol lore. I think a case can be made for a sandwich lore skill.

Experiment 625 approves this message.

As for Sandwich paradox, I've got two options. One is vanilla, and one alludes to my mindscape paradox idea.

For vanilla, we've always got the anomaly paradox, let us borrow from an alternate universe where sandwiches are everything, and some Cloudy-With-A-Chance-Of-Meatballs tier freak scientist turned the whole region into sandwich fixings.

Or with my mindscape, we can project what any proper sandwich artisan's got going on in that noggin of theirs and project THE SANDWICH DIMENSION!!!

(All seriousness, an unsaid half the reason I suggested mindscape is it'd allow some real freak picks for dimensional expression, like your food world, candy land, meat dimension, or escher-esque worlds and surrealist worlds). Also, now I'm doubly musing on mindscapes since this month's Roll for Combat Battlezoo Ancestry is the Figment, essentially an imaginary friend from Fosters.

For a less joking approach,

For the background, I'd suggest Crafting and Sandwich Lore (Crafting will give you general cooking talent without a reduction to DC, while Sandwich Lore will of course have you prepped for all things sandwich)
The for the feat, Seasoned, Additional Lore for Sandwich Lore, or Experienced Professional for Sandwich Lore.

I haven't made it to the Starfinder spells so can't give input for the paradox.

as for the quantum field, Your studies into Sandwhiches have lead you to the ability to have already fed both your allies and enemies before you combat, before you even met them. For any creature in your quantum field choose either "Well Fed" or "Garbage Fed". For those who are well fed, any effect that would apply a fixed number of hit points or temporary hit points applies an additional amount equal to spell casting modifier. If the effect would roll to determine the amount of hit points, instead make two rolls, and take the better result, this is NOT a fortune effect

For those who are garbage fed, they must make a will save when the field activates or the first time they enter the field. on a critical success nothing happens, on a success they are sickened 1.
On a failure they are sickened 1 and cannot reduce this condition until they leave the field.
On a critical failure they are sickened 2 and cannot reduce the condition until they leave the field.

Hmm... trying to make a Sandwich Quantum Zone is an interesting challenge. Quantum Field effects are usually debuffs, and so my mind automatically went to Sickened, too.

What else about a sandwich do we want to capture? Is it holding something in place between two objects, where you keep enemies immobile? Is it working at a monotonous sandwich shop, where enemies get distracted waiting in line?
