It was a fun adventure! but that's not what I want to talk about.
First off, the ship is BIG!, and by big, I mean each map for the 2 levels of the ship was around the size of the enormous battlefield flip mat. Large species will enjoy having 10 to 15-foot wide passage way. The cargo bays have enough room to hold mechs and or vehicles, or both if they are not too big. It's more of a base ship, the a hero ship; it can enable a lot more different types of adventures than the ships we had in SF1e. It's big enough to have an entire game session within the ship, which opens up a lot of possibilities. Any way just wanted to say I think it's a great ship design.
The adventure also seemed to be a preview of Cinematic Starship Encounters. I think the adventure did a good job of feeling like you are on a ship in the middle of a battle, without using tactical starship combat rules. Here begins the spoilers.
1: You have to repair 2 damaged ship systems, doing so affects the chase at the end.
2: The ship takes a direct hit to the hull next to where the PCs are, creating a hazard for them to deal with.
3: During the battle to take control of the bridge, each round of combat, a random area of the bridge takes damage from the starship battle, causing damage to anyone near it. This very much felt like being the bridge during a Star Trek episode with a space battle.
4: There is a simple chase at the end to get away.
As much as I am looking forward to the full starship combat rules, I think this adventure did a great job without using the full rules. For many situations, I think this could be a better option than tactical ship combat, or maybe even mixed with it.
The Battle for Nova Rush is also a great starter adventure that I could see being reflavored, reused over and over. It's an adventure that can explain how the PCs got their first ship, and when the adventure is over, the PCs have a ship to get to wherever the next adventure starts. Simple but effective.

I believe the devs said on a stream somewhere that the Nova Rush is intended to be the main ship for the iconics from now on.
I ran it last weekend and had a good time with it. The size of the ship also means you can easily add your own encounters if your players want more combat than the adventure provides.

As a Free RPG day scenario, it usually gets released a month later (as I understand), so after the end of the month (i.e. after SF2 Player Core is released).
However, given the launch of SF2 Player Core and the lack of a day one AP or substantial scenario, and since people are giving it the thumbs up, it'd be GREAT if Paizo could find a way to make The Battle For Nova Rush available on the same day as the release of SF2 Player Core.
That way we have something to play that isn't playtest or a conversion.
Also, anyone know when Starfinder Society will release their first scenarios for SF2?

The exclusivity window for Free RPG Day is 30 days, so Nova Rush should be available on July 21st.
Murder in Metal City is going to be available the same day as Player Core and I can guarantee you its longer than Nova Rush is even if its only for Level 1 characters.
The first two Starfinder Society scenarios are set to publish July 30th, so the day before Player Core.

The nova rush is a chonky boi ship. I would agree it is a lot better setup for accommodating large sized species. It seems significantly bigger than the iconic ship in SF1. I am curious if there is going to be modules that slot into that area on the underside it almost seems designed to carry something.

The timing is unfortunate, but Paizo doesn't control Free RPG Day. As Perses13 said, there will be 3 adventures at release.

It's a really smart design; they found a way to have the ship's interior fill a rectangular map, but not have the ship look like a flying shoebox. The underside definitely looks like it is for holding a cargo container or a mission module. Another possibility is it's for capturing other ships, be it for piracy or salvage.

To clarify, what I'm saying is that the Free RPG Day adventure comes out a week prior to the street date of Player Core. So it will also be out on release.

Good timing then, somehow I lost 3 weeks between playing it and now, must have been the GAP.
