Ancestries for Starfinder 2nd edition?

Will the ancestry system for Pathfinder edition be used for Starfinder 2nd edition as well? If so, will we get ancestries from Pathfinder species like Dwarves, Halflings, and Elves (but with a modern Starfinder spin) as well as the typical ones? I ask as my girlfriend is interested in playing a female halfling mystic.

The Starfinder 2e playtest draft has been available for a while now, and does indeed use the same Ancestry system as PF2 - in fact, it uses *all* the same systems as PF2! You can make a Halfling Mystic just as easily as you can make a Lashunta Mystic.

So it makes use of the same ancestry feats as in Pathfinder 2nd ed? If so, do any of those feats need to be updated or slightly changed to fit with Starfinder 2nd ed?

I would really just recommend reading the playtest book, it's a free pdf and answers all your questions.

No ancestry feats from Pf2E need to be updated or changed. The only difference is that I think SF2e ancestry feats tend to be more fun and interesting, but that's just a difference in authors.

From what I can see it is entirely possible to use PF2e ancestries, however, they have mentioned that when it comes to 2e SFS, the only ancestries that will be gated ARE the old PF2e ancestries, to encourage use of the wild variety of SF2e ancestries (which they have stated almost every release will have some new ancestries)

That said, I've said I'd like to see a book that focuses on the ancestries from Lost Golarion and how they've adapted to this future, where their populations centers are. and, like OP suggested, giving some updated ancestry feats to reflect how those ancestries developed in the intervening centuries/millennia

I would like this very much as well!
