Devs, what are your favorite dragons?

So I have a bit of a thing for dragons. I made a Reddit post about two months ago about revamping dragon lore, and Bigfoot_Country actually unexpectedly replied to my post, asking if people wanted a big dragon book. I nearly lost it with excitement, and NOW it looks like you guys are going to be putting out a book later this year. I SERIOUSLY can't wait.

So then the other day, I made a post on Bluesky asking what the Paizo devs thought were their favorite dragons, and the person managing the account suggested I create a forum post.

So here it is! My question to all the devs and story tellers and general people running Paizo... what are YOUR favorite dragons??

As for me, while Silver dragons have been my favorite for YEARS, the new Fortune and Omen dragons have really caught my eye recently, and I've made (but not yet played) dragonblood characters based on those two new types.

I'm a big fan of the omen dragon, personally! It's the perfect kind of spooky for me, one of Paizo's local Halloween enjoyers! I am also in love with the akashic dragon (seen on the cover of Starfinder Player Core) and what our Starfinder team is doing with dragons in SPACE!

Can't spoil anything about the upcoming book, but (partially because I'm Korean) I'm a big fan of imperial dragons. I just think they're neat XD

My favorite dragon is the ONE RIGHT BEHIND YOU LOOK OUT!

Fortune dragons are probably mine. I'm a big believer in dragons wearing their hordes and using all the sweet treasure they have. Special shout out to Cadrilkasta from Shattered Star for cementing that for me.

PS: I'm a developer on the Rules & Lore team, my titles just aren't updated :)

I really, really like the despair dragon which has been teased for Monster Core 2. I won't say anything beyond that.

As for dragons that everyone can enjoy right now, I love the adamantine dragon. Those big, chonky fellas were one of the ones I was most excited to design. The adamantine dragon breaks a lot of "rules" right out of the gate by not having a traditional energy breath or any spellcasting. It gave us an opportunity to tell everyone that dragons can work a little different now. Since it's the first dragon in the section in Monster Core, it meant that we opened with that message and made it clear that anything was possible after that. Also, they can swim through the ground which is always neat!

In accordance with my contractual obligations, I will state unequivocally that diabolic dragons are the best, coolest, and most attractive dragons there are. For legal reasons, I also wish to clarify of my own free will that this statement is in no way being made under any form of coercion and that any implication to the contrary is absurd. I always blink like this.

Depends if it's an OGL dragon (bronze, AKA the "rusty dragon" of Sandpoint) or a remastered dragon (REDACTED), the latter of which I can't talk about yet. Oh. Wait. I guess I can, since Luis said so above.

Remastered = despair dragon. For... reasons. Which will become clear eventually.

Until that fella's out, I'll go with the mirage dragon.

Dragonets are my favorite, because what is better than a tiny dragon curled up on your lap—OMG, no, stop chewing on the blanket!—they are truly wonderful creatures to have around.

Thank you to the team for posting your favorite dragons so far! And of course, Sterlingclaw, thanks for bringing this question to us! The team was and still is busy making more content for you to enjoy, so we apologize for the delay initially. Please enjoy these dragons and more if we're able to keep adding!
