Expensive Array Turret - Typo or Not?

I see that Expensive Array gives the Turret 2d8 weapon, ummm, so does this mean when i put a Upgrade weapon Mod in, it does nothing and I would need to go to the next level so it to deal 3d8 damage? Seems a little silyl I can by pass an upgrade by taking a feat. Am I reading this correct?


Unless each time you upgrade it it increases by 2d8. It definitely needs clarification, or errata.

Yeah this one confused me. I am curious if it just auto grants you the rune for the extra dice of damage automatically but that could still cause some weirdness although would save you some money. It for sure needs clarification though.


As it currently stands it's 'Weapon Die'(W) is 2d8...

So, an Advanced Turret deal 2W,.. or 4d8 for the Expansive Array...

Is this the intention? Probably not...
