Character concept Biologist

What class do you guys think would best fit a Biologist. Which skills do you think is most important for a Biologist in a exploration type campaign where we go to random unexplored worlds?

My thought was Ranger, Rogue, Alchemist, Mystic or Witchwarper but I am unsure about this. I'd do Druid but I think Mystic is generally better at the cost of preparation of spells for having more slots.

I was thinking of a 10 hit point class but I am unsure which would fit over a sorta skill monkey/wisdom stat focused.

It is unfortunate biohackers for 2e are not in yet because that would be perfect. Failing that I would probably recommend alchemist but a xenowarden mystic makes a lot of sense too.

Alchemist with the remaster has pretty good all day staying power and pretty easy to flavor them as investigating new worlds for new components for their work. Int key stat means being a skill monkey is pretty straight forward and now they get pretty solid attack proficiency and defense so reasonably rugged for exploration.

Xenowarden flavored Mystic is easy fit their whole schtick is exploring new worlds so they can study and protect the wildlife on them.

Each of those are a good idea. I am not sure which one I like more over all in all honestly.

Envoy for the skill coverage and skill feats do do some nature and survival in addition to your basic social stuff, plus legendary perception. Get a Wildwise graft and you can use Diplomacy skill with animals/plants/fungi and ask them for simple answers to questions.

Take the medic leadership style and have wisdom as your tertiary attribute.

Chirurgeon or Mutagenist Alchemist would be my suggestion for biologist.

Likely with the Loremaster archetype to help you readily identify a wide range of creatures.

As Xenocrat said, Envoy, particularly the Infosphere Director Envoy for the using Recall Knowledge as an Act of Leadership. Alike, Loremaster can greatly help with creature identification.

Biohacker would be the best Biologist. Out of the 6 missing classes we only know the plans for the Mechanic and Technomancer. It sounds like the plan for SF2e is to have related things in the same book, so the Mechanic and Technomancer in a tech heave book makes sense. Biohacker and the Evolutionist would go together well in the same book, and possibly even combined into one class like the Precog and Witchwarper were.

I wouldn't imagine the Biohacker and the Evolutionist being combined. as much as their core flavor overlap, they are mechanically VERY different classes.

I could see biohacker as a class archetype of alchemist. There is a ton of overlap on what they do.

One thing I like about the idea of combining them is that biohacking explains the cause of why someone started evolving as an evolutionist.

If they were combined I'd like to see the evolutionist part not be confined to Str or Dex so that you could also have Int or Wis based Biohacker Evolutionist that more resembles the current Biohacker's abilities. I'd also like to see Con and Cha also have evolutionist.

The problem I see with the evolutionist, is there are so many ways to evolve that fitting them into one class could take up a whole book.
