So we are about to start a new campaign in my homebrew world. The players are all natural born citizens in a country occupied by another nation. As such they are treated as second class citizens. To try to make a life for themselves they have taken to adventuring.
Now in this world you must be licensed to be an adventurer, and aquire quests from a guil hall, the difficultly/reward being based on your adventurers rank.
I need a few quest options for my player to pick up, before I introduce the main story plot(where questing will become much less relevant). So basically I'm looking for some quest options that won't take a long time to complete, that are significant enough that they would select them from a guild hall, but all easy enough that it would be offered to 1st and 2nd level adventurers.
Thanks

If you want something that ties into your main story, but doesn't necessarily kick it off right away, you could send them after a group of "bandits" that turn out to be freedom fighters. This could be revealed through talking to the bandits, leaving the players to figure out how they are going to handle the situation. Alternatively, if the players don't talk to the "bandits," it could be something they discover from searching their camp for treasure. Perhaps the "bandits" have been attacking the conquering nations tax collectors or something of that nature.
