So now that Rage of Elements is out, what does everyone think of the spells? Favorites? Stinkers? How do they stack up to old standbys like fireball or magic missile ?
Myself, I have to hand it to beheading buzz saw and wall of metal . The imagery is just outstanding - throwing a buzz saw at your enemies is never going to get old, and neither is yelling "and now the dragon's encased in adamantine!"

I looked at that needle darts. It is a decent cantrip. I was thinking maybe cantrips without ability damage won't be terrible. It works better for non-casting classes using cantrips and eidolons using cantrips. The damage is more spiky, but you don't have to build your casting stat up to make it do decent damage.
Protector Tree is an interesting spell.
Explosion of Earth seems decent damage for some variation from shocking grasp.

I liked Glass Shield not only because it gives a shield spell to the primal spell list but specially because it gives 2 shield block cantrips to the arcane spell list this allows arcane sorcerers, magus and arcane summoner to get a good improvement in their long term defenses and is also interesting to eidolons with Magical Understudy to get a better defensive power using their own actions.

I've been going through the spells to give my players a good list/evaluation and here are a few faves so far (i'm only through Air and Earth so far)
* Deep Breath - Having a low level protection vs Drowning/Suffocation is nice and thematic.
* Pressure Zone - A bit high level but a fun debuff.
* Shock to the System - Narrow application and high level, but I like it. A way to revive an ally AND boost them.
* Glass Shield - Same reasons YuriP explained.
* Rubble Step - This was used by a druid on a Monk and was a huge change to the enemy tactics.
Still reviewing, but have high hopes for other standouts
