Another day another build, now which of these paths would you take for a small tribal character?

Advice

Silver Crusade

So the general idea is to take a small character be they Halfling, goblin, kobold whatever who specializes in the use of thrown weapons either spears or slings, basically questioning whether this character should be a switch hitter or a dedicated long-range character. I might consider bow and arrows but i'd rather see how far i can go with slings as it would stick to the "Archaic" angle I'm going for

I've also been gravitating towards the war painter skald as i feel the warpaint would be fitting for the build thematically and would be kind of selfish anyway and I'm also considering combining it with the battle scion since no matter how you look at it I would need the extra feats and rage powers seem useless for such a character anyway.

So between a switch hitter or a dedicated long-range character, which would be a better feel for the character ignoring optimization?

Go with Ricochet Toss or a Returning or Called enchant and use a Hunga Munga (or 2) for your pint-sized character. Hunga Mungas are pretty "tribal-y".

Is this a “human tribal” or the tribal of that race? Tribal halflings would prioritize stealth and community. Gnomes would favor nature and illusion. Kobolds would favor trickery and traps.

Tribal of their race while the idea would largely assume halflings goblins gnomes and kobolds could use this as well the only real condition is they be small.

Warpriests can make pretty good throwers, and are very easy to build with a tribal theme.

There are fun Rage Powers that go well with some throwing builds. Battle Scion Skald gets access to, and can share both Rage Powers as well as Teamwork feats. Pack Rager Barbarians obviously gets Rage Powers, and can share Teamwork feats. Both of those can be made with a tribal vibe really easily. Feral Gnasher is a Barbarian archetype specifically for Goblins that uses improvised weapons pretty well... could probably make a thrown improvised and natural weapon switch hitter.

Bounty Hunter Slayers are surprisingly decent with thrown weapons. If you consider the net and lasso as thrown weapons, we can throw the Hangman Vigilante in there, too. For ultimate silliness with the net, use an Eldritch Archer Magus. Grippli are proficient with nets, and are also small.

I'm admittedly more drawn to the sling route since I've been wanting to make a sling build for a while now.
