I have 3 players lined up and would like to add a 4th. This is a conversion of an AD&D 2E module that will be a 1-shot. Character creation will follow PFS rules and start at 2nd level. Some 3pp classes will be entertained since this is a non-PFS game.

What are the classes, skill sets covered by the existing 3 players? I try to take on unfilled niches and have no specific builds in mind.

Also, with there be leveling within the one shot and up to what level?

So far there is a paladin and a cleric. The 3rd has a character concept in mind but hasn't settled on a class yet, AFAIK.

I don't expect leveling. I recall playing through it with a level 1 AD&D character and only leveling up at the end of the adventure.

Here is something I put together based on the module title. Obviously, I've no idea if I'm stepping on toes, so forgive me.

The adventure is a Ravenloft adventure. If you're not familiar with the line, it's a gothic horror setting. I'm ok with the ranger/rogue, but I'm hesitant to apply the archetype. It's metagaming the scenario that probably makes it hard to respond appropriately to various situations. It encourages a murder hobo mentality when the characters should be asking themselves why is the cat hissing and do I really want to open that door?

One could say that about a Paladin or Cleric (in general), but I respect your wishes.

Any idea what kind of Cleric is being played? Casting, melee, reach?

Or about the third character?

Knowing more would help me craft a suitable compatriot as opposed to someone generally geared for undead (which is what I created).

Thanks for the feedback!

Upon further consideration, Ravenloft isn't a setting I've ever played.

I'll withdraw interest.

Best of luck finding a fourth and with the adventure!

Hmm, just outta curiosity, what would the expected posting rate be for this adventure?

Personally, I tends towards posting between days at irregular intervals, so a daily posting requirement is a no go on my end.

Otherwise, how does a Malefex, a 3pp class from Dreamscarred Press, or a Cryptic, a 3pp Psionic class also from Dreamscarred Press, sound to you, DM rel20? ;)

Admittedly, I've never personally played anything in the Ravenloft setting before but I do know of some of it's more well-known setting conceits [ie. Gothic horror; those danged mists. ;p] though.

PS. as an fyi for any other interested parties out there besides m'self, the main thread would be located here.

Now, admittedly, I'm currently already active in another of DM rel20's non-pfs games- so if there's another new willing player for this game that wishes to join in, I've no issue with stepping aside or being a secondary/tertiary option... presuming that posting rate wouldn't be an issue.

Also, just out of curiosity , would Character Races be limited to Paizo based ones, even those not considered for PFS, or would some select 3pp races be allowed, depending on sourcebook used? And how will 2nd level equipment be handled? WBL or something different, since PFS uses those exp form sheets and stuff. ;)

Ideally aiming for a post/day, but folks are ok with a slower pace (1 post/2-3 days) if that's all you can manage. For RP parts, I don't think it'll hinder game play if other players have a higher frequency than you do.

I'm ok with the Malefex and Cryptic. I actually had a Malefex in a Dragon's Demand game.

For the rest of character creation rules, I'm going by PFS rules. 3pp races could be entertained, especially if it's something like a racial class, although Ravenloft from this era tends to be human-centric and xenophobic towards anything out of the ordinary. For wealth, I want to say that's the 1,000 GP + starting gold without the use of reputation points.

Go ahead and start posting in the discussion thread; it'll give you a chance to meet the other players.

Good to hear, DM rel20, and thank you very much to you and your other fellow players for the invitation. I'll be doing just that, then. :)
