So the new Grey Maiden Plate is Full Plate that only requires 16 Strength (and is a measly 5 GP more expensive). Seems to me like there is something there. . . A build that caps out at 16 strength and has heavy armor proficiency (maybe through sentinel/champion dedication?)? The best I have is my Dwarven psychic build with champion dedication. Caps out at 16 strength for wearing armor, originally she just wore half plate but now. . . Can take that 12 dex and put it into something else.
I dunno, anyone else have an idea? Grey maiden sorcerer with Champion dedication?

Couldn't find the item on nethys, but at a first glance it seems that rather than a build that caps at 16, it's something made for classes that dont allow you to start with 18 str.
So, assuming it's a lvl 2 item like the full plate, it seems an item meant for all classes which are forced to pick a specific stat, even if they'd want to play with a different one.
For example, war priests and battle oracles can't get past 16 str until lvl 5.
But same goes with gymnast swashbuckler, thaumaturges, warrior muse bard, alchemist, inventor, and so on.
Something like that would lessen the issues classes have to deal with different armors:
- can't get 18 str until lvl 5
- already behind in terms of hit because str
- have to expend one ore more general feats to get heavy armor proficiency
- have to get sentinel dedication to make my proficiency scale ( there's also the champion one, though it's clunkier and forces your character into a specific roleplay )
It would be mostly a +5 speed for 5 golds ( not making it stronger, but just equal to 18 str characters).
Overall, it seems a good item tbh.
