Can a 16th-level spellcasting character with Effortless Concentration and Effortless Captivation Sustain a Spell on up to 5 different spells simultaneously? One for each feat, plus three more for each of their actions?

Is there a way that we can we take it further?

Those have the same trigger. As does Cackle.

If I remember correctly, you can only take one free action for any particular triggering event.

No, Cackle doesn't have a trigger. It is simply a free action spell. So Cackle and Effortless Concentration would let you sustain 5 effects. For 1 focus point per round. And you can't move or raise your defenses much.

There are some level 20 feats that help
Hexmaster lets you sustain all your hexes with Cackle in one action

Head of the Night Parade gives you 3 sustains on Mad Monkeys in one perfrom action

All the quickend effects have limits on them. So AFAICT none help at all here.

Oooh. Yes.

And it removes the limit of one hex per round.

So this is limited to 1 action Hex cantrips.

So:
1st round: Hex, Hex, Hex
2nd round: Cackle to sustain all three Hexes, Command Farien to recharge the point from casting Cackle, Hex, Hex.
3rd round: Cackle, Hex, Hex, Hex.
4th round: Cackle, Hex, Hex, Hex.
5th round: Cackle, Hex, Hex, Hex.
And now I am out of focus points to cast Cackle with.

But that is 14 instances of the Hex cantrip being in play for 1 round. Well, two rounds actually. the Hexes duration won't expire until the end of round 6.

But I am not sure that 14 instances of Discern Secrets would be that practical. Fun thought experiment though.

...so now I'm seriously wondering if there's any way at all to get two copies of Head of the Night Parade running at the same time. You'd need to somehow have the ability to cast 8th level Mad Monkeys 6 times int eh same day. Could you use your 9th level slots for that? A staff? Scrolls? You'd also need to have a single round where you somehow took a three-action perform and also a 1 action perform... and you have to be a Bard, and your level 20 feat is already spoken for.

You could work around stuff which gives a way to get extra focus points per day. For example:

- Energized Font
- Familiar Focus
- Desperate Prayer

And Mostly

- Divine Inspiration

I don't think you could use 9th level spell slots for that since it specifies 8th level casting. I think scrolls would work.

But then there is the problem of the action cost. I was going to suggest Quickened Casting, but Head of the Night Parade isn't a spell itself, so quickened casting wouldn't affect it. Also Quickened Casting is a 10th level feat, so a Bard could only get it through archetype as a 20th level feat. Which as you pointed out is already taken.

Speaking of Quickened casting, I think I can use that and Effortless Concentration to get 5 spells sustained indefinitely. By having Farien do one of the castings.

Farien will need Spellcasting and Independent. I'll have him cast Aqueous Orb since it doesn't have any additional effect when heightened.

Also, since I am not using Cackle, I don't have to conserve focus points as much.

1st round: Needle of Vengeance, Flaming Sphere.
2nd round: Effortless Concentration, Sustain, Command Farien to cast Aqueous Orb, Quickened Sanguine Mist.
3rd round: Effortless Concentration, Sustain, Sustain, Needle of Venegance, Farien (independent) Sustain Aqueous Orb.
Subsequent rounds: Effortless Concentration, Sustain, Sustain, Sustain, Farien Sustain.
