Haven't made time for it yet but I keep getting absolutely bombarded by friends' recommendations (Some of whom are EXTREMELY picky about what they consume to the point of being downright annoying) to watch it and after stopping downstairs to refill my coffee I find my wife with her Bluetooth headset and the show going on her phone while making lunch.
Apparently I need to set aside the time to watch this tonight because I'm getting left behind.

The best show I've watched in years and most definitely the best western animation of all time, beating out my former favorite The Legend of Korra. I can't recommend this show highly enough.

I binged through it the last two nights.
I am not exaggerating in the slightest: This show is EASILY and hands-down, the best (I'm talking the animation, the acting, the actual STORY, and even pacing) adaptation of a video game property into another form of media that has ever been created. RIOT Games couldn't have knocked this out of the park any harder IMO.
Quite literally, just about any frame in the show can be paused and it would be a fantastic wallpaper. The characters (even the unimportant throwaway one scene characters) are absolutely full of life and personality, the environments are bleeding with detail, care, and attention that was given to them, and ... can I just take a moment to talk about how the first few episodes actually took the time to setup the world-building and character backstories for the rest of the season. Most shows fumble through this and it ends up rushed, often into a single episode but they did it in such a way that it established everything without the need for flashback scenes, character exposition explaining what is going on in their heads, or repeatedly bashing you over the head with the lessons you were supposed to learn.
Absolutely phenomenal, I'm excited to see what else springs from this success, to say the least.

Sat down and watched the series through with the wife again as I got way ahead of her initially and the second time through continued to impress me with tons of things I just didn't have the visual/mental bandwidth to catch on the first watch, especially many of the recurring themes that the show plays on such as family and also more subtle cinematography that alludes to past or future events.
Again, it may not be up everyone's alley but I am even more impressed with the show after completing it again and highly recommend that anyone, even those who care nothing for the League-verse, give it a shot. There has been a lot of good TV to come out over the last few years and Arcane almost certainly tops my personal list of enjoyable and deeply satisfying storytelling.

This nicely sums up the known-knowns, the known-unknowns, and of course the unknown-unknows re Arcane Season 2.

Season 2 begins
I'm taking it slow, episode a night, so only one episode in but already....you can tell this is going to get ugly.
Never did get into the video game, so still pretty clueless on the character backstories outside of this show but I can't help feel Jayce did not make the right choice with how he saved Viktor. That just feels like it's going to go hideously wrong somehow.

Overall, I was less impressed with the story this second season. It was still entertaining, but kind of meh. The animation continued to blow me away though.
I heard this is the last season. I'm kind of sad to see the series end. I'd have liked to maybe see them expand that world some more. Maybe bring in new cities and lands, more characters.
