A heavy theological Question? The God(ess) of Gravity?

General Discussion

Exo-Guardians

In a playbypost and some piloting checks have the chance to go south in a hurry.

So who would be the deity of gravity?

The devourer has black holes, the ultimate expression of gravity. Gravity causes a lot of entropy, which is also their bag.

Of Course I'd like to put saranrae forward for the job.

1)She's the god of the sun which is the biggest source of gravity in the pact worlds. i
2) She can be the godess of laser firce AND of milk and cookies, so being photon and graviton would fit.

I'd either call it to be the devourer or an as yet unknown deity.

But if you're going for god(dess) of solarians I'd agree that Sarenrae is the correct choice.

Might I also put forth some of the more intellectual deities as possibilities? Yaraesa or Eloritu aren't necessarily embodiments of Gravity like The Devourer, but you can make a compelling argument that the scientific process of discovering, studying, describing, and ultimately controlling, Gravity could be under their domain? May be apt for a pilot to call out a desperate prayer for "the grace to intuit this high-g burn to bank around that incoming missile without turning my crew into paste" for example.

Where'd the milk and cookies aspect come from? Was that a bit in a livestreamed game or podcast or some sort of Organized Play in-joke?

More the fact that she is the goddess of good and nice.. until you tick her off and then its laser dakka where she don't shine.. (Hence the WWSD picture)

If you're a pilot looking for a blessing from a deity to help you out in a jam I feel like Desna is the right call, but hopefully Galactic Magic will settle some of these theological arguments for us.

Eh, the Devourer is not specifically the God of Gravity. He(?) is just a living black hole of death, but his domain is destruction specifically, not the more benign aspects of gravity.

I would say that, if there is any god of gravity specifically, its Ibra. Ibra is basically the God of Space Nature, so gravity as a neutral force of astrophysics is his turf. Which does suggest, to me, that Ibra and the Devourer probably have some conflicts over black holes. Devourer wishing to claim them as the ultimate destructive force, while Ibra defending that they are only as destructive as any other neutral aspect of the cosmos, you can't have them.
