Scroll Esoterica?

Thaumaturge Class

Howdy.
Two Bits.

I understand you use Class DC instead of that spell DC.
"You can Activate scrolls of any magical tradition, using your thaumaturge
class DC for the scroll’s DC, rather than a particular spell DC."

But in the case where you're making the free ones with Scroll Esoterica. And you have a spell attack with it. What exactly do you use for that spell attack?

Is there a general rule I"m missing? Most scrolls are made by casters, but in the case they're not a caster.. what does it use? Charisma seems an easy guess-given the class DC. But is there anything stating it? Or is it just assumed to be working off of Innate casting rules?

Also this does include scrolls in general-which I"m not familiar with. But can you Heighten and put that into a scroll? I.e. Heighten Magic Missile from level 1 to a higher level scroll (using that level of scroll, not a level 1 scroll)?

------
Last bit is. I think it'd be neat to hear what spells folks often went to or used.

It should just use the Class DC for spell attack rolls, since Spell Attack Bonus and Spell DC are the same figure, essentially.

I tried using buff spells with scrolls, but the action economy never worked out. Having both hands occupied means it's an extra 3 actions to use the scroll and go back to having a weapon + Implement in hand.

Wonder Worker (the 20th level feat) gives you a clue as to how to calculate the Spell Attack modifier: "thaumaturge class DC - 10."

They should have put this in Scroll Thaumaturgy as well, even though it increases the word count. We shouldn't have to guess how mechanics work.

Well hopefully cleared up.
But safe bet is
Proficiency (same as class dc Proficiency? ) plus charisma?
Plus any item or magic to hit bonuses that would apply.

Is that a safe bet folks think?

I've mostly used scrolls to do utility or weird one offs. Battle use does seem unlikely.

It was answered in the Scroll Thaumaturgy thread :

Gushing is on topic and I'd love to hear it, having a difficult week. You could make another thread to gush and it'd be great and cromulent. For this topic, for now, let's use the class DC - 10.

I took this feat but having the hands / action economy is a struggle for it to have a combat use. But stepping back it is probably great for some really niche spells that scrolls are usually meant for

Liberty's Edge

The usual suspects like Heightened Longstrider spring to mind.

And long range attacks that inflict damage that will trigger weaknesses. Until you get Extending rune on your melee weapon that is ;-)

I know not everyone wants to settle for such a weak weapon but my Thaumaturge (as well as the Investigator it started off as) is using spiked gauntlets in order to grab items and attack with the same hand. Thankfully, Esoteric Anthesis and Implement's Empowerment make up for the low damage.....when he's lucky enough to hit.
