Summoners and downtime

Rules Discussion

So as far as I know EIDOLONs get to take a seperate exploration activity from their summoner. IE they can stealth wile the summoner scouts ect.

Now during downtime can an EIDOLON do an activity like earn income as long as it's able to do so within range of the summoner. Such as crafting or a service barkeeping singing/performance? Can the summoner effectively earn income twice?

Up to the GM. That's like asking if an animal companion can Earn Income for you but searching for lost gold.

In PFS, hard no.

I'd say no to separate downtime actions but your EIDOLON could Aid you in yours.

I agree with greystone. Due the limitation of being near to summoner it's more difficult to eidolon to do different works. But it could easily aid.

But in some situation, depending from diplomacy check and of various details of work I would allow a summoner to try gain twice if the work is more complex that could be done in recess mode.

Ex.: A summoner could try to convince a caravan to double pay once the eidolon + summoner could count as 2 guards instead of just one. But it would be a very difficult check, would be easier to convince it that's better to contract the summoner instead of others due the differential to receive 2 guards per price of one!

I like to role play theses parts. So depending of how well the player interpret and arguments I change the roll checks or even improve the values.

I agree ( it's part of downtime balance. Earn income x1 )

I'd also allow the eidolon to do the work for you if he has better skills.

For example, the eidolon could get "additional lore" + "experienced professional", as well as a higher int score than the summoner's, and because so be more proficient than him.

Or even with crafting ( speciality crafting + magical crafting + inventor ). I see plenty of possibilities.
