Howlrun World. (Homebrew) LF Campaign Writers!

Recruitment

**Game Name** Howlrun
**Paid/Free** Free
**Platform** Foundry or Roll20, Discord
**Game Platform** PF1e.
**Theme** Feudalism
**Time, Timezone, & Day** GMT+4 (EST)

**Synopsis** A feudalism theme. Blood washed over the world. Fear of extinction forced races into alliances. Kingdoms promise to never let war succumb to such tragedy.

Only one realm remained. All creatures sought out its sanctuary. For nearly a millennia this realm became all they knew. The other 6 realms abandoned. Their history and knowledge lost. With no contact to the realms they remain uncharted.

Players start in this 'safer' realm known as Dvorak [Dee-vor-ack]. Threats strike fear into losing their only haven. Players must first rescue their homelands if they ever dare to explore what lies across the seas.

**Looking For** Campaign Writers. World Builders. People to help construct quests, settlements, and NPCs. Intent is to put the campaign into gameplay upon construction. Enjoy quality Pathfinder Entertainment.

Interested, but I would like some more framework

High, low or no magic?

Nature of Extinction Level Event?

Climate of area?

Map?

Silver Crusade

I'd certainly be interested. Please excuse the format, this is largely how I brainstorm :3.

I'm already thinking- Maybe the last realm was headed by a powerful order of knights, heavily militant. Possibly Theocratic. Metropolis capital, with Attack on Titan like walls (not quite as ridiculous, but you get the idea) City not only makes use of sections, but also has lifted segments, making use of rudimentary pulley systems for elevators. Though there are plenty of settlements outside the Capitol, and even some larger cities with their own fortifications.

Cut off- two fold, this realm is on a smaller continent, cut off by an unfathomably maelstrom caused by magic in addition to large sea beasts infused with magic. Entirely Impassable, or thought to be so. Undead control most of the continent the realm is on, a "Fog of death" is slowly encroaching upon the final bastion. Perhaps smaller unknown hold-outs of more bestial type races that didn't band together. Small potential havens later in campaign?

The Players are members of the said Order, Freshly knighted recruits.

- Technology, black powder discovered, found to be effective as aid to defending the Realm, very rudimentary tools at this moment (gives potential for a player to head a minor scientific revolution later on involving black powder, steam power, clockwork, maybe even magitech?).

A vibe of middle magic, example- was a high magic world, but much was lost, now arcane knowledge is seen both as a potent tool and dangerous threat. Possibly magic caused the devastation that brought about the setting. Spell knowledge is limited, arcane secrets are highly coveted and kept out of public knowledge. Spells past a certain level must be researched, or better yet, learned of through exploration and uncovering ruins of the bygone age. A reason to have a focus set more towards technological innovation. (Minor steam-punk vibes in the future?)

Divine magic - either prevalent, especially so within the Order (how they managed to survive) or entirely gone. I prefer the former.

Beasts- We can give monsters witcher like lore, adding resistances/immunities to them, but also applying specific vulnerabilities. Example- werewolf, DR/silver or Magic, regeneration stopped by Silver. Resistant to fire/cold/lightning (due to thick fur and toughened hide) Vulnerability "silver"

Curious and interested but same questions already posed
Level of technology
reason for extinction= meteor, fight over resources(what resource), etc
reason that isolation occurred = separate continent etc
arcane magic level = high low mid
Divine magic level = high low mid

Common races= halfbreeds?

Interesting concept - agree with Herkymr, sounds like after a millennia the most prolific (and successful) race(s) would essentially be halfbreeds or hybrids.

Makes sense that alliances that were forged would also involve political and racial aligning.

For my 2 coppers worth, an interesting base race would be for PCs to essentially pick and mix racial characteristics from established common/uncommon races? Or pick a "base race" and add on what you fancy/fits...

My own logic would have said chimeric race be of a High and Low Breed status. "High Breed" would exhibit qualities that are comely and desirable, whist "Low Breed" are more grotesque or undesirable in their characteristics.

Dark Archive

@CucumberTree, Herkymr the Silly: I believe you're misreading extinction. The various races were fighting each other to extinction and that is why they formed alliances. This is borne out by kingdoms vowing not to allow war to lead to such tragedy again. Regardless, he hasn't responded in two weeks so this may be DOA.
