Wild child brawler also gains a familiar.

Advice

I’m aware the Wild child gets an animal companion but is there a way to also gain a familiar that scales with level? I have an idea for a character. The only two rules are no home brew and no multiclassing.

I saw arcane edlerich heritage blood line but if I understand it correctly the familiar stays level one unless you have other caster levels.

The theme i want isn’t a pack master or or army of companions but just one animal companion and one familiar (ape and small monkey respectively) that scale with me to aid with different things.

For the full build I’m going mutagenic mauler/wild child

Eldritch Heritage (Arcane) would get you a familiar that levels with you but is always two levels lower than your actual level.

So, take Skill Focus and Eldritch Heritage feats. You don't need a caster level. Take Boon Companion if you have to have the level equal to your own.

A few ways...

1) Eldritch heritage: Arcane... gets you the arcane bloodline 1st level ability as a sorcerer of your character level-2... so if you use the bond for familiar (or use the bloodline familiar rules for the Arcane Bloodline Familiar) you get a familiar of your character level with no need for any casting class levels. (You can take the boon companion feat to suppiment those missing 2 levels if you really want to... but for a familiar it isn’t as important.)

2) followers of Calistria can get a wasp familiar through a feat... called Wasp Familiar

3) the familiar bond feat. Requires iron will and does not get the vast majority of familiar abilities (effectively preventing it from qualifying for any familiar archetypes)... but it scales with your character level.

4) if you are a Duskwalker you can get a nosoi familiar through the Personal Chronicler feat.

Sweet I’m cool with familiar bond (I don’t need all the special abilities although speak with animals of type would be cool flavor)

Keep in mind, familiars from familiar bond don’t qualify for any of the particularly useful familiar archetypes... so you would basically just have a tiny animal with improved intelligence following you around... and some of the archetypes trade out the same familiar abilities that familiar bond familiars lose for some useful alternatives that a martial focused character may find more beneficial.

If you don't mind spending another feat, improved familiar bond gives you the remaining features. Which allows archetypes.

Perfect; I don’t mind feats as I want flavor over optimization.
