Ways to get wings...?

Advice

So my character, who started as a Bard, is going very much the "holy warrior" route. I love the imagery of having wings, and was trying to think of good ways to get them.

They are Aasimar, so I have a couple of options (all operate under the presumption of not retraining any feats - there are 1-2 I'm not opposed to retraining but would like to keep if possible):
1. Take Angel Blooded, then Angel Wings. 2 feats, have the wings in 4 levels (already level 9)
2. Take Skill Focus, Eldritch Heritage, Improved Eldritch Heritage. 3 feats, have wings in 6 levels. (I would probably opt for the Phoenix Blooded Wings)
3. Take 7 levels of Mutation Warrior
4. Find the artifact Winged Cape (lol)

Are these pretty much it? I suppose something like Miracle or Wish could grant wings, which would obviously be GM fiat.

My character is a bit hodge podge but I like them so not wanting to redo levels so much (Arcane Duelist 1 / Inspired Blade 5 / Virtuous Bravo of Desna 3)
Feats (with one spent for Pageant of the Peacock):
Free - Weapon Focus: Rapier
Free - Weapon Finesse: Rapier
1st - Fencing Grace
3rd - Combat Reflexes
5th - Leadership (Crafting and support cohort)
Swash 4th Bonus - Weapon Specialization
7th - Lingering Performance
9th - Sacrificed (Pageant of the Peacock)

I really like to have a visual style to the character that fits the mental image, like spending the money to have their Celestial Armor glamored to appear like full plate.

Also, is there a faction that fits this kind of mindset, or just a faction of a church? I know you can create factions, but using the point rules to get benefits seemed like fun and I wouldn't feel comfortable inventing a bunch on my own or asking my GM to do it.

Last question: Banner of the Ancient Kings - it's technically "slotless" but the descriptor says it has to be carried at least 8 feet on a pole. This seems like it makes the banner rather useless for melee bards unless they're wielding longspears. Am I reading it correctly? I know of the warpaint and the Dervish Sikke to boost my Inspire Courage, are those about it then?

Re: Banner - It's fine for Longspears or characters who use 1-handed weapons ... unless they want DEX-to-damage. You could try dipping a level of Standard Bearer Cavalier and see if your GM will let your Cavalier standard hold the Banner. You're not paying the "Hand" cost for the banner then, you're paying a "Level" cost instead (if you're into that). You could also just ask the GM if they'll let you hold the banner in your offhand without affecting Fencing Grace (though it will make it harder to cast in combat since both hands will be full).

Regarding wings I know there are some other rsces that get them (eg. Sylph), but I don't know if that helps. Do they have to be permanent wings? Or something you can activate a few times a day (like the Witch's Flight Hex or the Alchemist's Wings discovery)?

Druids and Shifters can wild shape into winged forms, eventually being able to do so all day. They can take feats to be able to talk and do other useful things while wild shaped.

The Shapechanger sorcerer bloodline eventually lets you extend the duration of one polymorph spell that you cast on yourself from a minute per level to an hour per level.

A Robe of Arcane Heritage grants you a +4 bonus to effective Sorcerer level for bloodline powers.

The Dragon Disciple prestige class lets you advance your Bard spellcasting along with your Draconic bloodline powers.

There's several magic items which give you wings, starting with the obvious wings of flying or their lesser variant. An artifact is not necessary.

I hadn't thought about that - going the Cavalier route. I don't know if the GM would approve, but it certainly would work. I'll have to think on that one though, as I'm trying to stick with Virtuous Bravo from this point out.

Permanent wings is better from a theme perspective, or wings that have the potential of always being available. As far as getting a Wondrous Item like Wings of Flying, I'd probably see if I can pay the extra to get them "slotless" so it isn't like simply taking it on/off.

I already have Celestial Armor, so this isn't flight for the sake of being able to fly. This is more of a desire for the character look more angelic, but also understanding how hard it can be to fight while flying (which is why I looked at the Phoenix wings, simply because of the good maneuverability and faster movement speed) - definitely need to get lots of ranks into fly to ensure I make those hover checks. (Though the Wings of Flying are just as fast and give the +5 bonus to Fly checks).

It really looks like my choices are:
*Spend 2 feats (Angel Blood, Angel Wings) to get wings with 30 speed and average maneuverability, but get fly as a class skill
*Spend 3 feats (Skill Focus: Knowledge Arcana, Eldritch Heritage, Improved Eldritch Heritage) to get wings with 60 speed and good maneuverability
*Spend 54,000 gold for a magical item

Anything else is a really hefty dip or wings that only work for a few minutes. The first two options are more thematic, and I don't mind retraining Weapon Specialization for one of the feats. The only other one I might consider is Lingering Performance, but if I did that I'd want to add Harmonizing to my armor. Not as good as Lingering, but maybe good enough? At least doubling my rounds of Inspire Courage.

Just to clarify, I'm not it does work by the rules. It makes sense thematically and could be read that way, but it requires a pretty open reading of the rules.

I'd probably go with the Angel Wings feat. It's only 2 feats (which is pretty good), and you have the Celestial Armour for when you need better flight than the wings provide.

Polymorph Any Object should work. Cost a few thousand.

I was looking it over, and it doesn't specify what would happen if you got wings (i.e. fly speed, maneuverability, etc). It looks like I would have to find an appropriate creature to transform into, or at least build off of its template?

I am not sure how it would work unless I'm completely changing my race, and I'm pretty happy with the Aasmiar. Am I missing something that would allow it to give me the wings without becoming something else entirely?

That's fair. I don't know either - I kept trying to find some equivalent to those back-worn banners that Samurai have, but they don't get 8 feet tall (though I don't know if I get to add my height to that).

I also may check to see if my GM would allow me to hold it in my off-hand without negating my Fencing Grace.

Yeah, that's kind of where I'm leaning to. It's really between that and the Vermillion Wings from the Phoenix Sorcerer Bloodline. It's one more feat to spend, but the lesser power isn't bad (identifying items) plus a skill focus in Arcana isn't the worst use. Still though, the Angel Wings have less of a feat tax.

Fly skill shouldn't be too big of a deal, even without a class skill bonus (though I would get it with Angel Wings) - my Dex is pretty good, as you can probably guess from my class options.

If you are already Aasimir, then go with the racial feats to get wings, best overall solution.

if you can already fly with the Celestial Armor but just want the look of having wings, maybe just ask your GM for glamered to be just for the adding of wings to the armor?

Technically yes, but only once per day for a few minutes.

I think I would like something that is still part of the character, from a story perspective. Glamered wings doesn't feel that way.

The best wings I've found in the game are the Wings of Darkness fleshcraft. They're not terribly expensive for a higher level character, and offer you unlimited flight. They *do* take your shoulder slot, so if you need a cape, they won't work, but they're one of the few available ways I've found to fly all the time.

Silver Crusade

My favorite visual comes from the Shield of Wings spell: https://aonprd.com/SpellDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Shield%20of%20Wings

Might be a hard spell to sell to a GM if you are looking to make it permanent, but maybe there is s magic item based on it somewhere in the world...
