I tried this yesterday. Seemed awesome. Felt weak. Very weak. I ended up healing 6 hp at level 3 which isn't that much healing for an unstable action.


That’s what a champion would heal using a focus point.

champion at level 3 would be healing 12 and getting a +2 to AC though

1d4*level is a decent heal, it's averaging 2.5*level which is slightly behind Lay on Hands (6/spell level). So it tops out at a 50 HP average heal compared to the 60 HP flat of Lay on Hands at 20. I think the main issue is that the playtest Unstable is basically never going to let you use it twice in a fight, and Mark has already said that's going to get changed.

If you can use it once safely and once with downside to self per fight it starts stacking up better.


Honestly, if it's not going to have an AC boost or harming undead function, it needs to be stronger in sone fashion. Even just giving it a range would work well, and make it like some janky heal grenade, or boost it to d6s and it'd be perfect
