I decided to try out the Drake Companion from Legacy of Dragons source book as it is provided (even with it's issues mentioned by many posters). I know of an alternative (homebrew) version of Drake Companion located on reddit.
What I need help with, which can be applied to any version of Drake Companion, is a list of suitable feats the drake may take during levelling progression. I am pretty stumped on what feats that would compliment the drake. The list of available feats is huge, and with many not suitable for drakes, and I fear I will miss suitable feats, while going brain dead ploughing through the huge list.
If this is of any use, I taken the Draconic Druid archetype for the character.

Honestly, if there are feats to let it talk, blow smoke rings, do backflips, juggle apples, cook rabbit stew... take those feats first. It's so awesome that you have a pet dragon! That's like everyone's dream at some point in childhood. Don't send your friend to die in battle, you coward. Take care of your friend, keep them out of harm's way, have fun with your pet...
OH, you actually thought it was going to do something in combat? No, mister, no.

well I aiming for flying and mount. Druid is of small size, so the mounting possibility does come sooner than for medium humanoids.
Not actually early though. 9th minimum.
Anyway, I assume an air drake so it can fly earlier? A drake intended to be a flying mount isn't going to have the brains to use wands.
You're looking at 4 feats by the time you can ride it. One of those should be fly-by attack, and you might consider combat reflexes and bodyguard so that your mount can help protect you. To round that out you might take a teamwork feat, and take the same feat on your druid - escape route lets the two of you essentially ignore AoOs from movement.
Alternately your drake might try to use up enemy actions via combat maneuvers. Dirty fighting, improved dirty trick, {fly-by attack or kitsune style} & greater dirty trick give it reasonable odds of imposing some unpleasant debuff while your druid takes advantage of that.
There's other options - Name Violation is suggesting feats to help with stand and deliver using a full attack for example. I think that's risky on a drake with a druid but YMMV.

@avr, thanx for your input.
Party has cleric and fighter type characters, along with skeleton belonging to the necro wizard, so front line is well covered. Thus druid and drake can take a more support role, delivering spells, surveying, ranged attacks, etc. Though if there is a real need arises can get close to cause a flanking irritation to the enemy.
I have already planned for these feats: fly by attack, hover, mentioned by Name Violation, as they can be also useful out of combat. fly-by-attack can also be used to deliver buffs, etc to party members in melee combat.
The suggestion of combat reflexes and bodyguard is interesting. plus escape route for avoiding AoOs.
