Thassilonian Specialist (Admixture) level 6

Advice

Can I get some Input on my Selection of feats and Traits?

For Traits I have
1 Gifted Adept (Fireball)
2 Meta-magic Master (Fireball)

Feats are
1 Spell Focus
3 Mages Tattoo (Evo)
5 Spell Specialization (Fireball)
5 Sculpt Spell (3.5)

Sculpt Spell is legit... it does what otherwise requires Magic Trick, 6 ranks in Spellcraft, Reach Spell, and Selective Spell. Clean and simple, I like it... almost makes you wonder why all the other nonsense exists in the first place if such an elegantly simple solution already existed.

Ya I Think Magic Tricks Sculpt fire is even more versatile but it takes so much to get to it. So it's just easier for me to take Sculpt Spell GM was ok with it so that's all I needed

I do have a questions

As a Thassilonian Specialist Evokes I have no Access to Abjuration and conjuration meaning I have access to Mage Armor and Shield so My AC is very low

I have 11 AC from a base of 10 and a DEX MOD 1. I could redo my Stats but that would only increase it by 1 or 2 depending on how I do it.

Sadly we have no magic items to start (Plot reasons) is there any cheap items or spells I can take to offset my low AC / Bad defenses ?

if you are going for the wizard blaster, I recommend a 1 level dip in sorc. crossblooded orc/+whatever your preferred element gives you +2 damage per dice on your preferred element.

otherwise looks good.

Could 8 just do orc bloodline and take Blood havoc?

Haramaki(Fancy robes) and a mithril buckler go a long way.

Sure, if you don't want to take the penalty to wisdom saves. My suggestion was just to get the most bang for your spells when your preferred element is usable.

Also, wizards don't rely on ac at level 6+

You make use of vanish(for you, an evoker, this one is out save for emergencies)

Mirror image- don't get hit
Blur-miss chance

And as you progress ways to keep out of harm's way just stack further, fly/overland flight, displacement, greater invisibility, etc.

I think they clarified (maybe only for PFS I forget) that Blood Havoc/Intensity/Piercing only applies to spells cast from bloodrager or sorcerer spell slots, not all spells.

If it was only PFS, well, your GM might decide to go that way anyway since it is a little unclear what "Whenever you cast a bloodrager or sorcerer spell that deals damage" means with regards to multiclassing. Does it mean that it has to be on the Bloodrager/Sorcerer spell list? Does it mean that it has to be cast as a Bloodrager/Sorcerer? What about if you were a (full) Sorcerer and added new spells to your list?

Blood Havoc specifically states your sorcerer or bloodrager spells. So your wizard spell slots are not those. As for more build advice, picking up opposition research might be a really good idea since Conjuration has a lot of goodies.

Whenever you cast a spell that deals damage, that spell deals +1 point of damage per die rolled.

This is what the orc power entry says, nothing about sorcerer only.

Right, we weren't talking about that. Blood Havoc is a Bloodline Mutation that specifically calls out Bloodrager & Sorcerer spells. Normal Bloodline Arcana (ie, the Orc +1 damage/die) had a FAQ that allows it to apply to all spells, not just Sorcerer.

Thassilonian Specialist gets no use out of Opposition Research. They don't even have those schools (literally, have to UMD scrolls/wands/etc), and Opposition research merely reduces the penalty for memorizing them for a normal specialist.

Ah apologies yes, that is the case yes, I misunderstood. And yes, as a Sin magic user (thassilonian specialist) You can't even use wands/scrolls of those two magic schools. Honestly, I prefer this as it helps me focus myself. But a lot of people will tell you the extra cast/day isn't worth the utility loss (and from a "power" perspective, it probably isn't, save maybe as a blaster)
