Warpriest reactions

Looking for some good reactions for a Warpriest. I do have champion dedication however the problem with grabbing Glimpse of Redemption (can't qualify for Retributive Strike due to alignment) is that it'll make me more of a target. However I do plan on using (H) Invisibility during combat, I'm not sure if it's still too much of a hindrance to get Glimpse of Redemption since I'll likely get focused more and I'm not the tankiest of heroes (but not squishee at all either). We have two other front liners in the party. Are there any other reactions I could look at getting? Fighter dedication is a possibility are there any other good ones?

It's ok if you are the target, since you are a hybrid with shield.

I think you properly did your job by taking aggro.

I suggest you to also take divine ally shield ( if you can ) and bastion + extra shield block reaction.

You will be using your glimpse or 2 x shield block to deal with being targeted.

If you've got champion dedication, why not grab Shield Ally and invest in a sturdy shield for blocking?

Edit: Ninja'd

Oh I forgot to mention, I wield a Greataxe. I bring the deeps (dps). The champion dedication was to give me the highest possible AC without using a shield. And I figure that High AC + Invisibility might enough to go without a shield.

Not imo the best idea to go melee with a caster ( expert armor proficiency) without shield.

Also, dragging attention by also taking and using glimpse of redemption doesn't make things easier... ( crit feast even for enemies 2 lvl lower than yours ).

If you have natural ambition, maybe syncretism could help you taking a proper 1h weapon in order to make a good use of the shield.

My AC is higher than a barbarians just lower than a fighters? Ya I wasn't sure about Glimpse of Redemption that's why I was looking for another. 50% miss chance probably puts me in the realm of fighter AC if not above his. We have a sword and board fighter already too.

Right, I considered a capped character for the AC proficiency.

Can you get the advanced protection domain?

This will coat you 1 action as a raise shield, but will give you Dr against anything ( and also will give it to your party).

Apart from that, with a 2h warpriest your choices in terms of useful reactions ( for yourself) are quite low.

Protectors Sphere looks interesting, just I'm pretty action starved as it is. Don't think I could pull it off. If nothing else, should I go with Glimpse of Redemption or would nothing be better?

If you are the deeps. Why not attack of opportunity?

Bastion Reflexive Shield + Additional Shield Block.

Blessed One Blessed Denial

I think your right I think AOO might be the way to go, since I can prone enemies quite easily with Castdown.

While there's not too many of them, have you considered reaction spells?

Prepare a few castings of Blood Vendetta. And at higher levels one or two Scintillating Safeguards and maybe a Drop Dead.

Ahh didn't consider that, that's not too bad, thanks!

Think of items, too. Bracers of Missile Deflection are niche, but extremely cheap after a few levels. No reason not to have them!

Is Topple Foe typically regarded as better than AOO for a reaction? It is certainly higher level but we know a higher level feat isn't always a better one.

It's not about "typically better". It's about what works better for you and your party, if you are concerned with optimization at all. If nobody has Reactive Strike or similar reactions, knocking an enemy prone loses much of its value, for example.

Good point, they don't have AOO but I see it still holds value because the enemy still spends 1 action to get up.

Psychic Dedication for amped Shield is another way to get a strong reaction, in this case defensive.

I like Amped Guidance myself.
