So, Telekinetic Haul says the following for target - 1 object of up to 80 Bulk with no dimension longer than 20 feet
So, if my goblin bard decided to telekinetically move like a log that the party were all sitting on, if the combined weight of the party and the log were under 80 bulk, could he float the party on the log 20 feet (or 40, or 60 depending on if the rules allows multiple sustain a spell actions as I'm not sure where the rules are on that) a round?

I think if you can get your whole party on a sturdy enough object that fits within the dimension limitations and the bulk of it plus the bulk of your party and all their gear doesn't exceed the bulk limit, there's no harm in letting this work.
Being able to move your party 200 feet over the course of a minute with a 5th-level spell slot expenditure is actually one of the tamest things I've seen suggested as a use for this spell.
This spell can, after all, potentially inflict up to 100 bludgeoning damage to creatures in 20 foot by 20 foot square area - by comparison crossing a ravine or scaling a cliff seems very low-impact.

Luke Skywalker did it in ROTJ. The scene with the golden robot and the bear people.
The Golden robot's name is R2D2, and they aren't bear people they're Drop Bears, cannibalistic Australian marsupials.
This is all explained in the Extended Universe novels, so don't feel bad for not knowing it.
