Build suggestion for a specific abilities array

Hey guys !

We've rolled our attributes for our next characters and as a challenge I'm trying to fill my abilities in roll order so I'm looking for a cool character build with the following :

STR 13
DEX 16
CON 15
WIS 9
INT 11
CHA 8

The character will be level 12 but you can suggest any build up to any level you want. We're limited to the 7 core races but other than that I think all official supplements are ok.

At first glance I'm thinking with the physical attributes and emphasis on DEX it could be a ranged or finesse physical character, maybe slayer, rogue or fighter ?

Let me know what you can come up with !

Thanks a lot.

An Elf Magus can make use of those stats.

A Gnome UnRogue.

Or just be a good old Half-Orc with Sacred Tattoos, Shaman's Apprentice, Fate's Favored, Toothy, and a Falchion/Orc HornBow. Maybe a Stygian Slayer? Dip a level of Arcanist for the Dimensional Slide, Cantrips, and most importantly a +2 to your Will save.

You could be a Fighter, MOMS Monk, Unchained Rogue or something that uses Spear Dancing Style Feats. Spear Dancing Style Feats make any 1 kind of Pole Arm you choose Double, Reach, Finessible, and let you put any Quarterstaff Feat on it.

Use a Halberd. Halberds are already Brace and Tripping, and they already do Piercing or Slashing Damage. So with that and Spear Dancing Style Feats, you will have quite the cocktail of special features with your Halberd: Tripping, Brace, Double, Reach, Finessable, and does Piercing, Slashing, and Bludgeoning Damage!

There are ways you can get Dex-to=Damage for this.

A kineticist is worth considering. It's a good switch hitter if you just grab kinetic blade and weapon finesse.

Ideas, IMO:

- Be a ranged character. Human or half-orc can do a lot for you here. Seems obvious.
- Be a kineticist. Dwarf is a REALLY strong option and would shore up your bad Will saves by a lot (+1 for WIS, +2 vs. spells). It's largely ranged but CAN go melee, and ranged options make up for dwarves' slow speed. Your CON also directly boosts your offense, so... Really good. (Halfling would be doable as well, as would gnome, and human is never bad.)
- Unchained Rogue looks really solid on there. Human, half-orc, half-elf, halfling (with 30 foot speed) are all good choices.
- A specific ranged option that could be fun if you've never done it is a halfling slinger. With Slipslinger Style + Startoss Style + Weapon Style Mastery you can do some incredible things. Your STR would be your first stat boost at level 4. Put that on a Fighter and wield a staff sling and you shouldn't have any problems if you pick the right options from Advanced Weapon Training.
- Just in general, I think Dwarf is a really good choice to get your saves up on this array. It's not the most offensive impressive option to pick, but your array becomes very sturdy with it.
- Speaking of dwarves, the Stonelord Paladin could be an interesting choice. Yes, really. Stonelord doesn't really care about Charisma (no smite/divine grace/spells), and instead acts as a sort of crazy defensive martial that if given a reach weapon can hold any line. And do you know who's got DEX and STR? Yes, your character.
- But let's make sure to mention Barbarian. Whether you go ranged, melee, or thrown, core Barbarian's reliance on a good CON score lines up beautifully with your array. Human, half-elf, half-orc, or dwarf would all be great race choices. You can build them in a variety of ways, all of which kill real good in unique flavors. Worth considering.

Halfling unRogue would be ok. Maxes out your Dex. The +2 Cha doesn't really matter.

A Human Fighter would be interesting. Archer sucks up feats like crazy and the stat array is about right for a "front line Archer" that wears heavy armor. Or a finesse fighter that takes advantage of Trained Grace.

Starting at 12th level gives you an advanced start on doing something odd. A Half-Orc or Human Cavalier could take Monsterous Mount + Monsterous Mount Mastery and have a free Griffin. (or buy one and save 2 feats?!?) If you take Undersized Mount check with your GM about riding a medium sized flying creature, like an Eagle.

They really punish you for using feats to get a Griffin mount. Spend the 8k and then sink the extra feats into using a lance better.

When I read the title, before I knew the scores, I though "Summoner". Looking at the actual scores, I'm now thinking... Summoner. Racial bonus to Charisma, +4 Headband, done!

Honestly though, you can play a lot of builds with that. Dex based stuff works fine as you don't have to worry about being useless before you get dex-to-damage. 12th level means a melee should have pounce ready. An int-based 6/9 caster is easily doable with either a +4 headband or a +2 headband and a +2 int race.

Let's see...
Barbarian, Fighter, Rogue, Cavalier, Samurai, Brawler, Slayer, Kineticist, and Vigilante don't require any specific mental ability scores and are thus fine. Alchemist, Magus, Investigator, and Occultist are int based and work well. Bard (Chronicler of Worlds) and Inquisitor (Living Grimoire) have archetypes that make them int-based.

Magus, Investigator, Occultist, Vigilante, CoW Bard, and LG Inquisitor have good Will progression, and Barbarian has a high bonus to it, others might want to invest a bit more than usual to help out there.
Dex-based naturally means leaning towards light/one-handed weapons, unarmed strikes, or natural weapons; the high starting level even supports that. I know unRogue can get D2D with a two-handed weapon, but I wouldn't recommend that. Firearms are especially interesting as you can start with (a) good magical one(s) and thus don't have to deal with reloading or misfires. Archery and throwing is doable, but actually suffer a bit from the low strength.
If it's allowed, VMC is something to think about, as starting with the 11th level abilities could make some interesting builds.

Note that classes not listed here aren't necessarily weak. Int-based full casters would still be the strongest thing you could play, and you could totally make charisma or wisdom based classes work, too. Wouldn't necessarily want to, though.

For the record: The Summoner "suggestion" is not a joke. Not a recommendation either because when starting at 12th level I wouldn't pick something that works just as well from level 1 on, but Summoner would still do well with those ability scores, as normal for the least ability score dependent class in the game.

A Halfling Fighter could get a flying Mauler Familiar and use it as a Mount. Eldritch Gaurdian Fighters get Familiars that get all their Combat Feats, including those sexy Teamwork feats liek Broken Wing Gambit.
