GCP= Glass Cannon Podcast
Naish= The way the GM (Troy) says nation.
Yeah, I know, I listen to the GCP and A&A, caught up on both. Been to a live show too. May become a patreon donor, we'll see.
It's the way they phrased it doesn't make any sense, hence the confusion.

Fair enough

It took me something like a year and a half to catch up with Giantslayer, but just a few weeks ago I finally did!
Love their style, but dang I wish they hadn't chosen the Giantslayer AP.
Troy's additions have given things a bit of spice, but the Brandyr subplot tying everything together has not really jived with me (he comes off as an anime bad guy).
The characters currently in Book 5 also seem much less fun than previous ones - especially Jimmer, who is brutally effective but has a really weak reason for doing anything with the party, and whose personality is a little too stoic.
Favorite character: Pembroke
Big Question: Why are ALL of Matthew's Giantslayer characters sarcastic, husky-voiced women with magic?

I'm ok with it. I have played the adventure so it's fun for me to listen to others play and I like that they converted to PF2.
I think Joe just needs more reps and he will get better at "taking the players turns for them". Some of the new players have been a little passive, so i get that he needs to keep things moving. Hopefully the group gels together as time goes on.
I don't mind him rolling secret checks, it at least gives me information on how it plays out as to whether I will use them when I start Gm-ing pf2.

Is anyone else less than thrilled with EchoQuest?
Joe has been a real 'your character does this' GM at times and it kills the show for me.
I honestly wish he would drop GM-rolls-for-PCs as well. It kills a hunk of drama.
I've put it down to nervousness. I think he'll ease out of that over time.
Having said that, he's so story focussed as a player, it's conceivable he DMs from a "this is what's going to happen this session" perspective as well.
The secret rolls mechanic works really, really well in my experience if the DM doesn't make a big show and dance about making the rolls and just narrates the results to the players as they discover things. We've always done that in the situations where one shouldn't know how well one did.

I certainly prefer it to the various one-offs they've run and I like the fact Troy is playing (I think he's an absolutely awesome player when he can rein in his urge to make oneliners).
I'd rate it about in the middle (I'm not a huge fan of the live shows).
Giantslayer and Dead Suns are my two absolute standout best GCP offerings, but even my least favorite of what they do are very high quality, imo.

They are excellent. I think Raiders might be my favourite.
Sometimes, I wish they would let the drama breathe a bit more. When Sydney and Ellie’s new characters were having that awkward first meeting, for instance, got punctured with a joke too early.
I like how Gish’s tribe has brought some emotional depth to Raiders, and they have let that breathe. The visions were great too.
I really wanted the colonel to die and come back as a ghast or vampire beside the psycho pomp.

I actually agree with most of your points, especially in the spoilers, but I think Giantslayer is an underrated AP with some glaring flaws. I actually think Book 4 is brilliant, and the whole theme is a really nice throwback to oldschool D&D. But yeah, the encounters in Book 5 basically aren't a challenge for even an unoptimized party. And I'm seriously not a fan of Brandyr or the related storylines, I feel like it takes away from the already threadbare main plot.
I loved seeing Pembroke. It's the best representation of a high level wizard I've seen. Favorite character? Painful choice, but it might be Fourbears.
Can't really say about Matthew, but 9t could be related to the fact that he's sadistic, husky-voiced feminist sorcerer IRL.

Seems like an appropriate time to bring this thread back again now that Troy just did his annual State of the Naish last night.
Definitely looking forward to their upcoming PF2e podcast around the start of 2022. The group of writers they've hired to create a new world and adventure seems fantastic. And they've still got their Azlant and Runelords podcasts for that PF1e fix, not to mention Strange Aeons for live shows.
Going to miss Starfinder - something about the sci-fi/fantasy setting clicked really well for them and they came up with some great characters. I feel like some of the funniest GCN moments I've heard so far (I'm still far behind on GCP but have listened to most of everything else) have come from Androids & Aliens and Delta Green. I totally get why they need to shelve Starfinder, at least for a while, but I hope there's a way they can return to it some day, even if just for short adventures.

I'm not a patron so I'm not sure on the details of what you posted, I thought this post would be about Dalgreath.
Did they cancel Androids & Aliens? I am subscribed to the feed but haven't listened to it yet as I am waiting for Giantslayer to end.

Once Dead Suns is finished (which should be before the end of the year) they will not be continuing Androids & Aliens. Troy didn't want to say that it was canceled outright, and that they may one day have a new show that alternates between different sci-fi games that they've played before (ALIEN, Star Trek, etc). Honestly, to me, it sounded like a gentle way of saying it was over. I love A&A, but they don't really hide the fact that they have difficulty playing it with all the other games they have running... I mean, they had to hire a rules lawyer to help out. It's still a great podcast, though!

I actually haven't gone through the main Glass Cannon podcast yet (I'm only about a dozen episodes in) as I keep getting caught up in their various other shows. I'm caught up with A&A, New Game Who Dis, Get in the Trunk, and Legacy of the Ancients. I just finished LotA and wanted to jump right into Raiders of the Lost Continent, but I'm not sure if I should do that or finally make an effort to focus on Giantslayer.

Man I love the GCN. I actually am very happy to be a subscriber
Giantslayer is the best. I just love it. Troy puts on his own narrative into the AP and makes it gold.
Aett I remember laughing myself to tears in the first 25eps,I envy you that! Get on it!
I love Raiders, I just crossed 110 finally of A&A, I've been able to catch up to most of NGWD, but I'm supposed to avoid Legacy because I have a friend who may actually run ROTRL... Some day and I'd like to experience it for myself first hand.
In such a fan now of these guys. Tell your friends! Get them to listen!

Fully agree, these guys are fantastic. I'm caught up on the original GCP (Giantslayer) and nearly caught up on Androids and Aliens. I'm way behind on Legacy of the Ancients (Rise of the Runelords) and Raiders of the Lost Continent (Ruins of Azlant) because it's quite hard to keep up with the sheer volume of podcasting they put out, especially since the pandemic polymorphed commute time into work time.
Troy is an amazing storyteller and overall entertainer, and the players have this great chemistry and ability to riff off each other's play, whether jokes or serious roleplaying, especially in the original GCP. They create superb characters and play them to the hilt. The shows have many hilarious moments, intense dramatic moments, and some unforgettable roleplaying moments. Highly recommended.
For those who would like a taste of what these guys can do without engaging into a long story, I suggest listening to the 3-part demo of PF2 they did at PaizoCon 2019, with Erik Mona, and Jason Bulhman as GM. It's an absolute blast.
