Alchemist question

I have a player who wants to use their sling to throw their alchemical bombs at targets at a further range. Is this possible? There is nothing saying no and there is nothing saying a dog can’t play basketball but an actual rule or reference point would be great. Thank you

I don't have a rule but here's a reference point. Slings are meant to hold sling bullets, which are light bulk for ten, hence presumably negligible for one. So it seems the sling can only fit things of negligible bulk. Bombs are light bulk, so they wouldn't fit.

Alchemical Bombs are throwing weapons, not projectiles ( at least, not for a sling ).

If you want to increase range have them take far lobber at lvl 1 and uncanny bombs at lvl 12. Could also take a dedication in ranger as that lets you extend your range on your hunted target.

You can not use them as a sling. (Well you can home rule it but RAW nope).

Only increases are.
far Lobber + Uncanny bombs.
Ranger's Far Shot. (Also hunt target removes penalties at second increment which is nice).

That is currently the only thing I know of that can extend it. Though I think in the future they'll have a Launching Crossbow (That I hope is 1 handed because it would simplifiy a lot of hands issues).

There is a crossbow thing that launches them with a range increment of 30ft. in one of the adventure books. I don't have it in front if me at the moment.

I remember it being not a good option compared to the feet that lets you throw them 30ft. If you don't have room for the feat it might work.

Slings work because the bullet is close to a sphere. Unless your bomb was a glass sphere I don't see it being at all accurate. Pathfinder doesn't have the tech to create prefect glass shpere's and inject the alchemical fluid into them.

Tell your player to stop being a munchkin or use the crappy crossbow launcher (maybe reskined?).

Alchemist Crossbow is what you're thinking of But it does not launch the bombs. It just lets you plug it into the crossbow, and then apply to 3 arrows (all 3 must be used within 1min of the first shot), it only adds elemental damage. It does not give any bomb's effect.

Its nice for targeting elemental weakness. But its not great for a bomb a lchemist--because its 2 handed weapon, which means you can't draw items very easily. So it really bad for a Bomber. But can be decent for churri or mutis.

Also it's uncommon so practically unless you run that AP you'll never be able to get it.
