Can a kinetic chirugon gain a blast infusion by any other way?

Advice

BasICALLY ABOVE QUESTION. Last game I spejnt an entire battle just running and double moving as we were chasing a guy. I was the only one incapable of attacking the target as he was always more than 30 feet away, and without the extended range infusion i was pretty much useless with my 20' move speed.

Extra Wild Talent or choosing an infusion when you 'double' up on your primary element at level 7.

I can only offer some advice outside of your requested criteria. Invest in a backup ranged weapon. Not everything is going to be within your blast range.

I think you may be out of luck.

*wince*

Well, that goes to show me that I should double check the archetype before writing something.

That changes my suggestion: You NEED to invest in a ranged weapon. Get a firearm if you use an energy blast. Get it enchanted with the Conductive weapon ability. Channel your blast through the weapon when you shoot it. Find ways to increase the range you can use the weapon to make touch attacks.

Or, if your DM will allow you to use a Mage's Crossbow to shoot your blast with, use that.

As I have commented before on these boards, a Kineticist can get a lot of mileage out of a +1 Bane:Evil Outsiders light crossbow. It handles the majority of the Outsiders with SR that you will run into. (For an energy using Kinny, at least). And the range is respectable... 80' I think, without looking it up.

As aether i am using physical blasts (telekinetic) when i attack. My dex isnt bad, and i guess without using infusions i have little need to gather power, so could in theory use a crossbow using mostly the same feats for my blast... Just going from 2d6+10 at level 3 to a d8, isnt really something i want to have to rely on, so was hoping to find something. Worst case scenario then, as i cannot get an infusion, would be to increase my ground speed i guess? What are the cheapest, and best ways to maximize my movement. Obviously longstrider or boots of striding and springing would get me to at least 30, any other suggestions?

Cheapest? Buy a horse. Or a riding dog if you're size small.

That wont actually work for me, I am awarded against nature<trait>

A shame, I had a vision of how much a riding dog would enjoy being the target of longstrider.

Anyway - there are figurines of wondrous power which you could ride, warded against nature or not. Or if you're any good at the use magic device skill then a wand of expeditious retreat works whether or not you're actually retreating. Or if there's anyone in your party who can cast haste or blessing of fervor that can speed you up. A quick runner's shirt isn't what it once was, but does let you move faster 1/day.

I know you said land speed but the fly spell if you can get access gives you plenty of airspeed.

OK thanks anyways folks, considering this closed, seems i missed the line they can never use them, which makes what i wanted to do moot. Getting permission form the GM to drop the archtype. We will be back to being in danger of status effects, but, oh well... At least i will still be able to throw enemies around :)

Question, would an exploiter wizard/witch be able to use infusions? Otherwise get 2 lvs as a barbarian or another class that gives move speed.

There are feats that can nab you an animal companion instead of just buying a warhorse and warded against nature specifically calls out your animal companions as being immune.

Can you give me an example of such a feat? I have never heard of those. I know there is one for a familiar...

animal ally, or exotic heritage sylvan would both do the trick.

Well, the first does. There's a FAQ saying the second doesn't.

hm double feat tax is technically cheaper, but at same time, more expensive..And multiclassing with a kineticist is usually not the best idea, i will have to definitely look into the boots i guess, as well as perhaps ways to acquire haste...
