Mythic Source and Cleric Archetype Domains

Rules Questions

My Undead Lord Cleric has just hit 5th mythic tier and I was thinking about taking mythic source.

The undead lord archetype says:
"An undead lord must select the Death domain (and the Undead subdomain). She does not gain a second domain."
Mythic source says:
"If you’re a cleric or you venerate a deity, you may change your spell domains to those you grant others."

When I gain mythic source, can I change my domain, as per the mythic ability, or am I still locked in to the death domain due to my archetype?

Does one overrule the other? / Will this be entirely based on the DM choice or is there a precedent one way or the other?

I would certainly rule that you are locked in. At least unless you wanted to lose the archetype.

For my part, I would rule that mythic trumps archetype.

For example, RAW a cleric must choose two domains from those granted by their deity. Divine Source says you may, as a cleric, choose to switch your spell domains to those selected when you choose this mythic ability.

Since Divine Source is already establishing that you may alter your domains from those you would ordinarily be locked into, I don't see a reason why it would not apply to other domains that you would ordinarily be locked into for other reasons e.g. the undead lord archetype.

Expect table variation though.

Is there a FAQ for this?

Another player just pointed out that the archetype only says that you must "select" the death domain when you take the level in cleric, it doesnt mention anything about being unable to trade it out later if an ability gave you the chance (like mythic source does).

I dont know if he's right, but I think the power of becoming a deity should trump an archetype anyway if he's wrong.

I dont know if there is any FAQs relating to archetype - mythic interactions unfortunately.

Is the other players reasoning the best i've got to approach my DM with, or are there better points I could put across?

The wording on Divine Source is somewhat ambiguous. It uses the term spell domain instead of just domain. To me that suggest that you can change out the domain spells, but the domain powers are not affected. It also uses the word may which makes it an optional ability not something you are required to do. This is further supported by the last line of the ability where it mentions adding their spells t the list of those you can cast.

The only place I can find mention of "spell domain" is an RPGBOT "cleric archetype breakdown" where the term is used to mean simply domain. Now obviously thats just some random internet guy who made a guide, but the term appears absolutely nowhere in any pathfinder product except this one ability.

If "spell domains" does mean specifically "domain spells"/"spells you're able to prepare in your domain spell slots" and you're saying that it swaps out the spells but not the powers, that makes the option to change your domains pretty pointless, given that as per the last line you already add the mythic source spells to those you can cast WITHOUT changing your domain to those you grant others. Meaning you'd potentially just be limiting the different spells you can cast by giving up your previous domain spells, which I hardly think was the intent.

One last thing, though, regardless of whether or not "spell domains" means what you think it means or not, you never actually stated whether or not you think the archetype and the mythic option are compatible / which one takes precedent.

I'm leaning toward this as being the best explanation so far:

With any luck, if I put that across to my DM he should agree as well.
