So I just read some instructions that say:
"Use an object to open the battery door."
An. Object.
It's like they're saying no WAY do I have an appropriate tool and I'll just bang away with whatever my beefy Neanderthal hands fumble upon.
They're not wrong. But, ouch. They're not even making the effort to pretend I'm competent any more.

Last year when I tore my ACL *and* MCL, at one point I stepped out of my car. And when I step out of my car, it seems, I make a lovely twisting motion.
I'm pretty sure the very nice elderly Southern lady on her way into the grocery store had never heard cursing like that. At least if the way she burst into flames is any indication.

Howdy all! I'm back. Still not operating at full capacity, but trying to soldier on.
Van, how's your wife? Is she, or has she already had surgery for the torn ACL? I hear those are painful, painful things.
Anywayz, hope everyone is fine and dandy!
The insurance company has not approved the MRI yet to even confirm what's happened in her knee.

Vanykrye |

Yes.
And the worst part is the MRI will tell us exactly what needs to happen, and it's the *only* thing that's going to tell us what needs to happen. There's absolutely no reason to delay this.
If it's a strain/sprain/severe twist/etc, it's just ice, Tylenol, elevation, and compression. No sweat. If it's one of the xCLs, those have to be surgically repaired. They don't heal on their own if they've been torn/ruptured/otherwise mangled.

That sucks. Anything I can do from here?

If you happen to work for my insurance company, get an MRI authorized. Otherwise, while I appreciate the sentiment, probably not. Unless you happen to possess a highly specialized set of skills and can track down someone at my insurance company...

Alright, after a delicious lunch at Pita Jungle, we have concluded a whirlwind tour of some houses. We missed the open house at first, but I had walked it yesterday and FaceTime’d Cyz in on the viewing. It’s lovely but all four bedrooms upstairs are jammed way too close, so we scratched it off the list anyway.
The next was really nice with wood or wood laminate floors throughout both floors. It would have worked perfectly for me, but Cyz had some complaints with the layout and options. Great location, so it was still a fallback option. The third was the one we were really interested in. Single story with all tile floor, great pool, lovely positioning ten minutes from my work. But there are a LOT of people going through there and we expect the bidding to be extensive given the downtown location.
A few more viewing had problems here and there, obvious water damage under the carpet, being far out of town with bad cell coverage, even if they had a lot of room space. Then we found this house. It checks all the blocks for Cyz, with the only renovations needed are redoing the floor to match throughout and replacing the soaking tub with a stand-alone option. Our realtor is going to investigate and see about making an offer. I’m really hoping this is one that we can move into next month.

I can honestly say, after spending 3-4 days with just me and three dogs, I'm happy that my mom and my brother plus my OTHER brother will be here for a good bit. Well I should say the youngest will be here to see the middle one before he and the wife go on vacation. But the middle one will be here until July 2nd...so there's that.
Mostly I'm glad I told my neighbor whose grand-daughter's Siberian Husky I'm walking "I need to sleep in at least three days a week. So does 2 pm work? Other than Thursdays?" (My neighbor volunteers at one of the local hospitals on Thursday afternoons...)

UGH,
actually decided to be a little productive yesterday, and cleaned up a mere section of my garage, primarily my work bench. (I couldn't find it under all the crud that had accumulated on top of it.)
:)
What do I get as a reward? I think my 'new, shiny gamey-PC' decided to crash the programs for the Champions online /Star Trek online MMO's I like to play. It crashed in the middle of playing, (actually crashed my practically brand-new PC) and now won't update or open the ARC/CRYPTIC games. ALthough it seems to be OK doing anything else.
:(
AND I woke up choking on mucus. I think the dust I swallowed while cleaning was really a sentient alien life form, and is now trying to take over my body. Hopefully SHIELD will help me find a cure before it mutates me into a bizarre crystalline entity.
;P
So,... How's everyone ELSE doing on a Tuesday?? ;)
(Sigh,... is it really only TUESDAY?!?). >_<
