Bloodrager Id Rager Archetype Explanation

Advice

Good evening,
i'm here asking for some explanation, since i'm not an expert about occult classes.

To me it's not clear what i get from this archetype, and i would love some more details/simple example.

Let's say tht I select the Anger emotional focus, what abilities do i get?

Thank you in advance.

It gives what it says it gives, everything listed under the archetype. Which means you'll have to go look up the abilities an Anger Phantom gets.

You do not get skill ranks in Intimidate and Survival equal to your hit dice.

You do not get Fortitude and Will as good saves.

You do get Strength Focus: +2 to Strength/-2 to Dexterity

You do get Powerful Strike.

You do get Aura of Fury.

You do get Ferocious Mien.

You do get Furious Wail.

How was this list determined? The text is a mess.

The best way to think about it, for me at least, is additional powers are powers added to the Phantom. Those are the powers not found in the Phantom entry. The good save is in the Phantom table thus in cannot be considered additional.

Still a lot of the abilities improve a phantom slam attack, which i suppose you don't get with this archetype, so those are basically useless.

Moreover, there isn't the "Pride" emotional focus in the list at the start of the archetype description, which was by far the most op i could find.

The "Hatred" focus is really good too, nice potential here.

The point now is : do I get a slam attack?

An ability like this, how does it work?

"Powerful Strike (Ex)
A phantom with this focus deals more damage with its slam attacks. It deals slam damage as a creature one size category larger than its current size.

The phantom also gains Power Attack as a bonus feat."

Nope, you'd have to have one from some other source.

This was a major inspiration for the conduit feat Chaos Reigns. ^_^

Thank you everybody for your opinions.

I guess that a regular arcane bloodline bloodrager is still the strongest choice afterall...

so strength focus is capped at the +2, doesn’t give the additional strength with level from the focus?

Yes, you only get the additional powers that a Phantom with your emotional focus would get.

You do not get anything that the base phantom would get, such as the Armor Bonus, Feats from HD, or their good saving throws.

The anger focus is still interesting, free power attack and +2 str are good at lvl 1, the aura at lvl 7 is basically +4 melee attack rolls.

The 12 lvl ability is meh, but wail of the banshee, while not having a super stronk dc can be hilarious.
