How thick is a wall of force?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

The spell describes surface area but not actually how many inches it is in thickness so does any one know?

A wall of force is a mathematical plane that has length and width but zero thickness. If anyone disagrees I chalange them to prove otherwise by submitining verified measurement.

I was gonna say 1 inch per caster level but looking it up it just says it gets 20 hp per level without mentioning thickness. So it could very well have zero thickness or just be one Plack Length thick.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Based on the lack of any indication I would say too thin to have useful thickness, but not thin enough to have useful thinness (as in, no, it is not a monothin cutting surface.)

That's a bummer then was hoping to use it as a comparison to something im putting together.

yeah, my understanding was that walls of force didnt have thickness, that they were like one particle thick. Cant provide a rules quote, and forget where i first heard that, though

Time to slice someone in half by hurling them at a wall of force edgeward.

In Skull and Shackles, our ship once hit one and sustained major damage.

Did a similar thing to a Giant Eagle. Sort of the D&D version of a bird hitting the clear glass window at high speed.
