The Druid's anathema and training abilities state that wearing metal armor is anathema, and that they are not trained in armors that are made of metal.
The problem is, there does not actually seem to be any statement in the book that says which armors are made out of metal!
In fact, page 177 specifically says "suits of armor and weapons.. are made from ordinary, common materials like iron, leather, steel, and wood."
Now at first glance you might say this is ridiculous pedantry that a player could ask for chainmail made of wood. Except that the book does specifically state that chainmail can be made out of darkwood. So then, the player argued, why not ordinary wood? There is even some historical evidence for wooden platemail.
So, are there material requirements for armor and should they be explicitly specified?

Which seems kinda weird that Animal druids are A.OK to be wearing a dead animal's tanned skin..
I disagree. I find it quite reasonable that a druid has no problem at all with killing animals IN MODERATION and FOR GOOD REASON. People are omnivores, after all. Sheep and cows being eaten is natural.

I do think this should probably be cleared up, as Breastplates and Scale Mail, depending on the era and the intended user, were more often made from cuir bouilli, or boiled leather, and in a setting with druids forbidden from wearing metal armor, you'd think it perhaps not a common sight, but reasonable that you could find or make (or have commissioned) a cuir bouilli Breastplate, should you so choose. And with the new rune transfering system, you could just keep that breastplate around and not worry much that other magic breastplates you find may be metal.
