Want more spell slots

Advice

Is there any way to increase the number of spells slots a character has, beside increases to ability scores and levels? I'm thinking about feats, but I'm open to other suggestions.

I know about the Expanded Arcana feat in the Advanced Player's Guide, but that only increases the number of spells known, not increase spell slots. I'm looking for a feat that gives more spell slots, but I haven't been able to find one.

pearls of power allow you to recover spells, so you to use the same spell slot to cast a spell more than once. I'm not aware of anything that gives you free slots otherwise.

Dark Archive

The Thassilonian Specialist archetype gives extra spell slots. It's kinda limiting though, and it's only for Wizards.

A Ring of Wizardry will double 1 levels worth of spell slots.

Be a 9th level character. Take Leadership. Have a Leadership score of at least 10. Talk the GM into giving you a Druid cohort with the Druidic Herbalism bond. Buy cohort a Headband to pump his Wisdom. Have cohort provide you with 6+ free Channel the Gift concoctions each morning. Have druid cohort turn the rest of his daily spells into extracts for you. Have druid cohort stay in camp and brew potions. Learn to drink faster.

Thanks for the responses.

I take it that there is no feats for this? Strange, DND had some, even in the 3.0 days.

My idea for a feat is to model it after Expanded Arcana. Does this look alright?

Extra Spell Slots
You get more spell slots.
Benefit: Pick a spell level that you can cast. If it is the highest level you can cast, then you get 1 extra spell slot for that level. If it is 1 or more levels lower than your highest level you can cast, then you get 2 spell slots for that level. Once picked, it cannot be changed.
Special: This feat can be taken multiple times.

Honestly its overpowered. Especially if combined with retraining. I take a wizard and put every feat into Extra Spell Slots. But every level I spend as much time as I can to change the old Slots feats into new Slots feats (5 days each) so all of my feats give me +1 of my highest level spells. By the time I hit 17th level and can cast 9th level spells I'll have 9 extra 9th level spells!

Even without retraining you could wait till you hit 7th level and start picking the spell slot 2 below your highest. Adding 2 slots almost gives a wizard the advantages of being a Sorcer/Arcanist without the slow progression. You just want to make sure you think its worth using a feat instead of gold to purchase/make pearls of power.

Thanks for the feedback.

I didn't factor retraining into the equation. I'll have to think about that. I was assuming that in the most extreme case that a Wizard would have 2 extra spell slots per level, except for 9th.

I was assuming that more spells known was roughly equal to more spell slots because Complete Arcane (DND 3.5) had two such feats being roughly equal. Mind you, you only got 1 spell known or spell slot from those feats, and it had to be 1 level lower than your highest spell level.
