Hey guys. Recently started prepping a Pathfinder Playtest campaign. One thing I've noticed is that when I first started reading the rulebook, there was a lot of important text that was easy for the players and myself to miss. What I mean by that is that in the PDF file a lot of us skipped the overview. We missed the character creation portion in our first discussion regarding the system entirely.
Now, the system looks great once you read the entire file. The problem we're having currently is that if we forget something and have to look something up, the text is at times very disjointed. For example, in order to find out how many actions a spell would cost for my wizard I have to go to down to page 192 and read the whole page to find the answer. I feel like key features that affect character classes should be emboldened or just placed in the character classes page. We bounced all over the place to fill just one spell list as well because the order was alphabetical and not in the order that you could obtain or cast the spell.
The chief takeaway is that it could be very easily simplified to be in the order of what could be expected from early game to late game. Spells in any one school of magic could be ordered as follows: Cantrips, 1st, 2nd and 3rd level and so on. And Character Creation in the appendix could be emboldened and made more visible. All in all great system. Excited to play, but please take these things into consideration. Thank you for reading.
