Monster melee actions

Hi!

I need a clarification when it comes to the melee action of certain monsters. I have noticed that some monsters would list their actions as:

Melee jaws +15, Damage 2d8+7 piercing
Melee claws +15 (agile), Damage 2d6+7 slashing

Here each melee action lists a form of attack (Ex. manticore)

Other monsters, however, list their actions as follows:

Melee scimitar (forceful, sweep) +11, Damage 2d6+4 slashing
bite (agile) +10, Damage 1d4+4 piercing

Here the melee action lists several forms of attacks (Ex. Zakfah from Domesday Dawn).

Does this listing mean that the creature gets several attacks as part of one action, or is this an error?

You are correct that it is an error I guess. They get to pick which to use with every action spent and both entries mean the same thing. I think the second is like that to emphasize that they prefer to use the Scimitar? But yeah, no extra attacks.

No, each attack is an acction. That looks like a formatting error to me. If a Monster gets to take multiple attacks with a single action, they tell you so ie Draconic Frenzy.
