Negative Healing

General Discussion

Sorry all, but I'm new to Pathfinder but really diving into reading the playtest rules and about to run my first game with it. I've searched the forums, the ruleset and the bestiary and can't find the definition for negative healing. I suspect its some type of regeneration but I'm not sure how many hitpoints, when it applies, etc.. Sorry if this is truly obvious as I did search and try to find the answer myself! :)

Negative Healing is damage.

Or do you mean healing with Negative Energy? In which case, only Undead and certain creatures do that (and they usually tell you if they do, too).

Take the ghast as an example. Right next to it’s hp In the bestiary entry it says “negative healing”. Just not sure what that is or does.

You're right, this isn't defined in the bestiary. It should probably have an entry in the ability glossary.

Undead creatures are healed by negative energy, such as a Harm spell, and damaged by positive energy, such as a Heal spell.

Got it. Thanks! Glad I’m not a complete idiot. Well.... at least as it relates to this question.
