Hello everyone,
I'm confused about how Retributive Strike trigger.
The action itself says :
rulebook wrote:
"Trigger : A creature within your reach hits an ally or friendly creature"
But there is this feat that says :
LOYAL WARHORSE
rulebook wrote:
"[...] Finally, you can make a Retributive Strike against anyone who hits your mount with a Strike, even if the attack was not a critical hit"
So, does it trigger on every hit or only on critical hit ?
And what is the point of this last sentence of the feat anyways ? Since the Retributive Strike already works for "friendly creature" and your horse sure count as that.

If I had to guess, perhaps an earlier version of Retributive Strike required a crit to trigger. I think the bolded text in your post is just superfluous, and will be removed.
I think alike.
In the blog preview if I recall well it was only on critical strike that you could trigger the reaction. They may or may not have changed that, so I will wait an explaination.
Either way, something needs to be fixed. Either the reaction or the feat.

Vengeful Strike, the Retributive Strike of AntiPaladins works on Critical Hits, I'm pretty sure it's an error from one of the previous iteration of Retributive Strike.
I'm not sure it's an error for the Antipaladin though.
Maybe being able to hit back each time someone hit you (once per round) was too powerfull so they tuned it down on critical only ?Well, we need clarification about the dev about this topic anyways.
