Cleric for Rise of the Runelord

Rules Questions

I am replacing my Druid for a Cleric. I have in fact two questions. The first is I read somewhere a Cleric could worship Asmodeus treating him as a Lawful Nuetral Diety rather then an evil one. If someone could tell me any details on this I'd appreciate it.
The second is Planar Adventures mentions something about Divine gifts but I can't get access to the book to read about it. If again someone could provide details on this I'd appreciate it.

divine gifts as far as i can tell are very owerfull thigns. don't expect to get them at level 1.
as for asmo, im nto sure what your source is, but as a lawfull evil god his clerics can be le,ne and ln. he himslef is le, i do remmebr something, maybe about the diabolist prestige class that work with devils, that talk about staying ln and not going the evil path, but im nto sure at all.

there are three main online sources that list rules and sources - paizo's PRD, d20pfsrd, and archive of nethys. Each has their good and bad points.

paizo's PRD is official and out of date. LoL, so a conundrum if there was one.

d20pfsrd is a collection of separate webpage sources reworked into a single page (for legal reasons). The webpage google search doesn't work (firefox) so it is best as a top down resource OR use google search with "d20pfsrd" as an added search key. It is expansive. It is not phone screen friendly.

Archive of Nethys is best for PFS (SFS?) as it lists allowed organized play material. The Additional Resources is a pain in the butt for specific items. It's search is okay (better than it was) but it is still best to backpage and enter a new search rather than change search keys and resubmit. It is not phone screen friendly. Donations help keep the site online.

advice: Rise of the Runelords has actual Evil. Evil in your face things and lots of them. Evil NPCs and not the Disney kind.

Be a Cleric that can Channel and that has some magic capability. Leave the fighting to others and focus on just being okay at combat. I'd suggest multiclassing into Sorcerer, Bard, or Unchained Summoner or Wizard Diviner for 1 or 2 levels. It opens up class lists (avoiding UMD) for item usage and Mystic Theurge as an option.
If for some crazy reason you want to be a combat cleric - Warpriest class or Cleric with archetype and right deity and on a slight chance some Paladin, Monk, or Rogue levels.

Asmodeus: There is a trait meant for people from some obscure island, so your GM may look at you askance for trying to take it, but technically it's available.

Source Distant Shores pg. 23

Category Basic (Faith)
The faith of Holomog focuses on finding the good in unusual places and appreciating the nuances of virtue in the world. You may treat Asmodeus as if he were a lawful neutral deity for the purposes of determining your own alignment as a cleric, inquisitor, or other divine spellcaster. You may not select the evil domain unless your own alignment also contains an evil aspect.

Divine gifts are strictly the province of the GM; you can't somehow select them for yourself.

Thank you that helps.

Going to mention that Desna is the major deity worshiped in Sandpoint (starting town), though Asmodeus does have a temple in Magnamar (near by major city) and the city does contract Hell Knights to provide some services. The Hell Knights are not part of the main stroy line, but with you being a cleric the GM might make them a part of it.

If you chose to play a cleric of Asmodeus bring your RP hat along with you. There are a few good moments for a contract thumping, law abiding, devil worshiper to show off. Hopefully you don't let them slide.
