Well they said 11 titans.
There was a turtle-looking thing in one shot... plus Gojira/Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan and Ghidorah. So four for sure, perhaps 5. Someone will have pulled the teaser apart to find as many monsters as possible within 48 hours or so is my guess.
Turtle one might be anguirus. I always thought of anguirus as godzilla's pet. They teamed up a lot I feel like from what I can remember.
I didn't see a turtle looking one. Well, there is one that I thought was the larval Mothra. Is that what you guys are talking about?

Yeah I think your right I think its mothra's larva form.
Also It kind of cool the girl from stranger things is in it. Although I can't imagine what purpose she is serving. Maybe it has to do with mothra since mothra loves kids.

Lol you can dream. I remember the mothra movie where they were kidnapped and used as a show for sleezy what I could only assume where opium denes. Seriously If a caterpillar the size of a mountain wants its faeries back give it its faeries back!

yeah I have a hard time figuring out what regular folks should be doing in these situations. (You know besides running and screaming) I also feel like the last movie over advertised Bryan Cranston for how little he was actually in it.

The actress is named Millie Bobby Brown, you might recognize her as Eleven from Stranger Things.

yeah I have a hard time figuring out what regular folks should be doing in these situations. (You know besides running and screaming) I also feel like the last movie over advertised Bryan Cranston for how little he was actually in it.
Mentally I boil down his presence in that film to the parts where he's not in it. Shortens the film by a good 20 minutes or so.
Frankly ... monster brawl movies do not need people except as toe-jam and fleeing hordes. The cost to make 90 minutes of good monster stompage these days however ... not sure it's exactly affordable.
Also, people seem to want to see people in these films for some reason.

Nah... piecing together what's there, it seems that she wants them released to do their job- which in this case, seems likely too be preventing Ghidorah from destroying all life on Earth...

Mmmmmmm, this crow is tasty, a cursory review indicates that my assessment above is way off, based upon even rudimentary visual and audio evidence from the trailer.
Methinks our leading lady unleashes kaiju based on a faulty assumption about what they are and what they do...

Shin Godzilla isn't getting a sequel, Toho has decided to start there own shared monster universe for the next Godzilla movies.
I have to say this is the biggest highlight from the whole comic con for me.
I know she is from Stranger Things(maybe one day I will watch it) but I couldn't remember her name and didn't feel like looking it up.
Makes me wish the last Godzilla movie could have used monsters from his Japanese movies instead of those horrible "original" designs.

I suspect Miss Eco-Terrorist will be safely tucked away somewhere instead leading by example and commiting Suicide by Kaiju
I suspect I could give a fig's breakfast about humans in this movie and just want to see Godzilla beat up some Kaiju.

Yeah, unlike the original Godzilla or King Kong or others in that era...

Or, for that matter, even relatively lowbrow offerings like Godzilla vs. Megalon.
The human element has always gotten a decent chunk of screentime in these flicks. Perhaps not to the extent of the 2014 film... but it sounds to me like there's a lot of selective memory at work here, 'cause, uh... yeah.
I don't mind a heavy human focus if the humans are actually interesting. Godzilla recent US remake's biggest fault wasn't that the monsters weren't the focus, its that the focus was almost completely focused on the least interesting of all the characters. Total waste of Watanabe and Cranston.
I can't think of single monster movie that didn't have human characters. It would cost too much to have nothing but the monsters unless you made a movie with people in monster suits and made the movie to the perspective of the monsters themselves.

It didn FOCUS on the humans. It had humans in it.
Just going to stick to Toho flicks plus the original Kong movie here, and note that this is broadly representative of a wider pattern encompassing Tristar's lousy 1998 movie, Legendary's movies, Daiei's Gamera movies, Gorgo, and so forth...
Focus on the humans has literally always been there, with one or two exceptions.
King Kong-1933- Ann Darrow, Carl Denham, and Jack Driscoll- without them, you haven't got a movie. 'Twas Beauty killed the Beast.
Gojira- 1954- Doctor Serizawa's moral struggle with the use of his terrifying invention, the romantic subplot with Emiko and Ogata which, in part, drives Serizawa's response... the focus is very much on the humans.
Godzilla Raids Again- 1955- The interplay between Tsukioka and his screwup buddy Kobiyashi drives a great deal of the film, up to Kobiyashi's heroic death and its showing Tsukioka what must be done to deal with Godzilla. Moreover, the prisoner escape attempt sequence contributes directly to the continued rampage.
Rodan- 1956- We spend most of our time with the human characters- Shigeru, in particular, serves as our entree to the full horror.
Mothra-1961- Almost wholly centered on the human actions of the villains and the protagonists, with Mothra's wrath forming the impetus for the heroes' actions more than anything else.
King Kong vs. Godzilla- 1962- The entire presence of Kong in a position to fight Godzilla is the direct result of human greed and opportunism.
Mothra vs. Godzilla- 1964- As with Mothra, human greed and misdeeds drive much of the actual conflict of the film.
Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster- 1964- We spend far more time with our mysterious Venusian-possessed princess than we do with Godzilla or Rodan... Mothra and the Shobijin, of course, muddy the waters a little bit, but it's still got a great deal of human focus.
Invasion of the Astro-Monster- 1965- Come on. Nick Adams' romance with the lady from Planet X gets about as much screentime as Godzilla and Rodan do...
Frankenstein vs. Baragon- 1965- As with all Frankenstein tales, the reactions of humans to the monster eat up a great deal more time than simply the monster being monstrous...
Ebirah, Horror of the Deep- 1966- The Red Bamboo terrorists are the actual villains, with the titular monster merely a tool in their arsenal.
The War of the Gargantuas- 1966- Sooooooo many human talky-talkies... in a generally excellent kaiju flick.
Son of Godzilla- 1967- Human weather control experiments set everything in motion. This one has less focus on human characters... and is not exactly the best-regarded Godzilla flick out there.
King Kong Escapes- 1967- Doctor Who (no, that's his name, not a reference!) is the actual driving antagonistic force. All humans, all the time.
Destroy All Monsters- 1968- We hang out with our spacefaring human heroes a great deal...
All Monsters Attack- 1969- Literally all of the kaiju action in the film happens in the dreams of Ichiro.
Space Amoeba- 1970- Hoomans hoomans hoomans...
Godzilla vs. Hedorah- 1971- Humans are all over this beast, which is not surprising, given its less-than-subtle message.
Godzilla vs. Gigan- 1972- We spend quite a bit of time with our conceptual artist, his karate-using girlfriend, and their cronies in foiling the space cockroaches' plans to kill Godzilla with their big bad voodoo laser cannon.
Godzilla vs. Megalon- 1973- The whooooooooooole looooooooooooong bit with the inventors and the thugs and the... *sigh*
Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla- 1974- We spend a great deal of time with the humans in order to cash in on Japan's Planet of the Apes craze... and, you know, all that Okinawa action.
Terror of Mechagodzilla- 1975- Interpol carries far more of the movie than Godzilla does.
The Return of Godzilla- 1984- Almost all humans, all the time, and whaddya know, it's one of the better Godzilla movies ever...
Godzilla vs. Biollante- 1989- "Saradian" agents, G-Force, splicing dead girls with roses and godzilla biomass...
Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah- 1991- So. Much. Time. Travel. Lunacy. HORRIBLE android effects. And, you know, some good scenes with Shindo.
Godzilla vs. Mothra- 1992- Mothra means human-a-palooza.
Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II- 1993- This is largely a G-Force movie.
Godzilla vs. Spacegodzilla- 1994- And again, largely a G-Force movie.
Godzilla vs. Destoroyah- 1995- They even made sure to include roughly human-sized Destroyer Aggregates, just to give our JSDF boys something to do.As with all of the films (starting with Godzilla vs. Biollante) featuring Miki Saegusa, we spend a great deal of time with our squishy little primates.
Rebirth of Mothra 1-3- 1996-1998- Kids, kids everywhere. Fitting, since they were aimed at younger audiences...
Godzilla 2000- 1999- In this generally terrible outing, we do indeed not focus on the humans.
Godzilla vs. Megaguirus- 2000- Almost Heisei-series-esque in its fixation on counter-Godzilla military and scientific efforts.
Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack- 2001- We spend a great deal of time with our human protagonists, with Godzilla's actions being background to their efforts. Even Baragon, Mothra, and Ghidorah are basically flashes in the pan.
Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla- 2002- Human focused in all but about three scenes.
Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.- 2003- It's got Mothra in it. Humans, humans everywhere!
Godzilla: Final Wars- 2004- Here, I agree with Hama- we spend entirely too much time with the humans. Like, say, that Matrix-ripoff bike chase sequence, human mutants beating Ebirah down, Don Frye... being Don Frye...
Shin Gojira- 2016- Focus is on the humans.
All I know is any time you had very uninteresting human characters...I wanted the Monsters to squash more stuff...

No doubt in my mind that is Mothra.
With four monsters in this movie, it makes me wonder if the Kong vs Godzilla movie will have more monsters then just two.

Seconded MMCJawa - the issue with Godzilla 2014 wasn't the focus on the humans; the issue was the focus on the wrong human. Mopey bomb technician dude wasn't remotely as interesting as his dad, and it made every scene involving him a complete drag. (And he even failed his damn mission at the end, and even worse, it didn't matter because the bomb was somehow airlifted away in time.)
And kudos to Cole for that list.

A universal truth.
And I think the marketing department knew it, because Cranston was all over those trailers, while his character's offspring... wasn't. Like... at all.
And heaven forbid we let Bryan Cranston and Ken Watanabe bounce off of each other for more than about two minutes.
Moreover... almost anyone else in the movie would have made a better central human protagonist-
- Serizawa. Come onnnnnnnnn.
- Elle Brody. Think about the angle we might have had if the film had focused on a medical professional with a kid to look after while her husband is off on a mission related to a completely unknown catastrophe.
- Vivienne Graham. Serizawa's right-hand woman, and a tragic under-use of Sally Hawkins in the film we got.
- The friggin' bus driver on the bridge.
Already getting better vibes on that front from this one.

It's been a while since I've seen it, but I could have sworn that he does succeed in his mission, and that they airlift him away from the bomb rather than the bomb away from him.

Works for me. Whether the next Toho Godzilla was a followup to Shin or not, more monsters would have been added eventually. And a Godzilla that falls asleep for weeks at a time isn't really greatly suited to monster vs monster battles. Don't get me wrong, I really liked Shin Godzilla, and the Godzilla monster itself was awesome...but them making it so lazy was a lot less awesome.
