Cannot find anything

Website Feedback

I am really struggling with this new website.

I am trying to learn to navigate it, but I cannot figure it out.

For example, I want to purchase Planar Adventures. Where do you go to do this? I eventually did a search and found it under sales/scratch and dent. Seems like a strange place to go.

When I select Pathfinder, I can click on Pathfinder Roleplaying game, which takes me to a page with links to the Core Rule Book and bestiary. None of the core book lines.

If I want the campaign setting line... I have to go through so many slow links that I cannot imagine this site to be optomized for sales.

If I want to purchase Planar Advantures... how do I do this using the links?

This is my thought process in an attempt to purchase the pdf. I select store.

Scroll down to find products and select Pathfinder

Now I have a bunch of options wondering where this book is to be found. Is it a campaign setting book or a roleplaying book? Not sure. I select Roleplaying.

I get to a page that only sells the core rulebook and another. There are links to the AP series. Not helpful. I back up

I try the campaign setting line. That brings me to a page where I need to select the campaign setting or the players line. Why? The previous page asked me that.

I select campaign setting. I wait. I finally get a page sorted by the oldest books first. Again, why? Newer things sell faster than older things. I have to sort. My book still isn’t there.

I continue to hunt... What the...?

Granted... I did find a release schedule at the bottom of the page that does allow me to find anything released since May.

I would be surprised if this was intentional for a navigation tool, but there you go.

It also say it took me over 20 minutes to find this option.

They use dropdown menus much more in the new site. So to find Planar Adventures, you click the Pathfinder tab at the upper left corner of this page.

That takes you here

From that page, rather than looking through the body of the page go to the Roleplaying Game Tab (white writing on black background near the top of the page but not the ones you just used). That will give you a dropdown menu including the option Rulebooks

That takes you here which is the same page it always was. It shows all rulebooks in the RPG line in chronological order of release. (Admittedly, the pawns are also all listed, rather than being under accessories - which I personally find a little odd).

As an alternate:

If you begin here at the paizo homepage.

You can again find Planar Adventures pretty quickly by sticking to the navigation bar along the top. The Pathfinder dropdown menu here is broken into the Roleplaying Game, The Card Game and then a handful of smaller categories.

Again, if you choose rulebooks under Roleplaying Game you end up here, which should look familiar.

Very helpful. Thanks

This is not intuitive at all, so thank you

Now I wish they would stop defaulting the book sort option from oldest to newest.

It's easy enough to reverse that each time you open a list (there's a 'sort by' dropdown box off to the upper left of each product line's page).

I would also like to be able to set "newest first" as a user default though. I started a thread requesting that once and got zero replies - so I don't think it's the most popular item on the wishlist. :)

I understand your frustration in trying to find what you're looking for, Globetrotter. Our front-end team is hard at work improving the browsing experience for the store. In the meantime, here are some tips that may make finding what you're looking for a little easier.

Generally, if you know exactly what you want, the search bar will get you there quickest (the scratch & dent category you found was a bug that has since been resolved).

If you wish to look at new releases, you can find a display of all products released last month, this month, or next month on the paizo.com homepage.

If you prefers lists or a longer timeframe, the same information is available at paizo.com/releasedate. You can also click "Release Schedule" in the website footer to get there directly from any page on the site.

I hope some of the insights in this thread can help alleviate the frustration as we move towards a more intuitive store experience.
