Will it be difficult to add homebrew creatures to the playtest without skewing the results? I ask because I am working on a 2e homebrew playtest game (right now just the story and an estimate of CR) and it hinges on a couple creatures in bestiary 5 (specifically deep ones and greys), which means I doubt the playtest bestiary will include them. Do we know if there will be guidance on creating monsters/expected numbers, or if there will be similar creatures in the playtest bestiary?

IIRC, Monster Creation won't be a part of the playtest, but will be in the 2e Bestiary. Which means, for the playtest, homebrew creatures are probably not feasible. Depending on what they have in the Playtest bestiary, you might be able to do reskins, but IDK how much you can do homebrew creatures (and I think it would color the playtest feedback to attempt to do so).

It will not. There aren't even rules for how to make creatures of varying levels.
That said, I wouldn't necessarily assume those monsters won't be in the Playtest Bestiary, which is gonna be quite large partially courtesy of not needing to include anything but stats. And you can probably use creatures with similar abilities and just re-skin them fine.

I suspect some of us will reverse engineer the monster creation rules from the monsters included in the play test.
Probably take a week or two.
It looks like monsters might not use proficiency. But maybe something similar. Otherwise the stat blocks we have seen do not look to different from PFe1 monsters converted for PFe2.
