Some creatures, like ratfolk and giant termites possess the swarming trait.
Swarming: Ratfolk are used to living and fighting communally, and are adept at swarming foes for their own gain and their foes’ detriment. Up to two ratfolk can share the same square at the same time. If two ratfolk in the same square attack the same foe, they are considered to be flanking that foe as if they were in two opposite squares.
This reads as if only two of the same race, in this case ratfolk, can swarm together. But a ratfolk druid with a giant termite vermin companion could not.
Is this the case or is there any rule allowing different creatures to use their swarming trait together?| LordKailas |
Swarming is race specfic as you can see by the Creating New Races Rules
Prerequisites: Medium or smaller size.
Benefit: Members of this race are used to living and fighting communally with other members of their race. Up to two members of this race can share the same square at the same time. If two members of this race that are occupying the same square attack the same foe, they are considered to be flanking that foe as if they were in two opposite squares.
Special: If the race is Small or smaller, this trait costs 1 RP. If the race is Medium, it costs 2 RP.
However, the druid could take the feat Scurrying Swarmer. This would allow both the druid and the termite to benefit from from their respective swarming abilities.

The feat says it gives no benefit to the person you're swarming with, which I assume means that they can't stay in the same square as you on their turn. It would work for the ratfolk though, which could be enough.
A ratfolk should be able to ride a giant termite though, so perhaps mounted and with the feat it would workout.

It works fine....
Your ally gains no benefits from sharing its space with you unless it also has the swarming racial trait.
Since giant termites also have the swarming racial trait a ratfolk druid with a giant termite can swarm with the giant termite via this feat.
