Sorcerer Spells Known

Advice

Dark Archive

Just wondering what would be a good first second-level spell known besides scorching ray. Scorching Ray will be the bonus spell known granted at fifth level.

Thanks

EDIT: This is for PFS, so party composition will change. This character worships Nethys that likes to use magic.

Really depends on party composition, role, and what first level spells you have. Invisibility, glitterdust, web, bull strength, levitate, summon monster 2, acid arrow, some commonly good choices, but maybe not for you.

Flaming Sphere if you're going full fire sorc. Invisibility is always fun, or any of the Bear's Endurance, Fox's Cunning etc. Or depending on party composition you can take something like Brow Gasher or Ricochet Shot (I like synergetic party spells). If you have a lot of touch range spells, Spectral Hand can also be a good choice.

I know mirror image is a good spell but I would not take it as first. Create pit is quite useful for taking things out of a fight.

I'll second Boneshaker, as it can do some reliable damage and can have combat utility in it's movement. It pairs well with Create Pit.

Gust of Wind, lest you invest in Feather Token (Fan) for those pesky F+~ Clouds pitted against you.
Hideous Laughter is a nice save-or-suck spell, though it is language dependant [i like Oppressive Boredom]

That's quite the vulgar autocorrect.

Fog got "evasion" sensored?

I assume that you are playing an elemental bloodline sorcerer. If so you never want to choose a spell with your element. Your bloodline arcana allow you to change the damage type to match that of your bloodline. Elemental resistance is fairly common so if all your spells are from one element you are easily neutralized. I would also suggest choosing the elemental spell. Then choose ally your spells from the other two elements. This allows you to use three different elements with each spell.
