Elven branched spear pic?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Does anyone have a link to a pic of the elven branched spear?! My search-fu is apparently bested.

Regards,

Ooh, I’m interested as well - having trouble imagining it in any sensible way, to be honest.

It might look like the langxian.

That... actually looks rather reasonable! Plus the elves probably dig the leaf aesthetics as well! And the usage as described by the Wiki article definitely matches the stats! Thanks!

You are welcome.

That's pretty neat.

As the designer of that weapon, I can confirm that it is based on the nangseon.

Well, David. That is by far the best description. :-)

However, strangely, no one has found a Pathfinder-sourced picture...

With the video David posted I'd say there's no need for one.

As far as I know the branched spear has only appeared in Melee Tactics Toolbox. And by "appeared", I mean "not appeared" because not all the new weapons got illustrated, probably to squeeze in more words.

Would it make the weapon unbalanced if the Disarm feature was added to it? It seems like it would be a great weapon for tangling a foe's weapon and twisting it away from them.

That video is sweet - I've gone from not understanding the weapon to totally loving it! Now I want to build a character around this!

From what I've seen, the branches seem too flexible to be much use binding a weapon.

With apologies to anyone with a deep cultural or other investment in this weapon: it is such an unfeasible looking thing. I’m gonna shake my Christmas tree at you menacingly and then, after the battle when you’ve died of laughing at me, I’m gonna try to figure how I comfortably carry it around with me on adventures. The video is good but it’s very hard to envision it actually being used which, I suppose, is why it’s a rather obscure weapon: not many used it. I’m also not sure why it was decided it should be a finessable weapon. I shake my Christmas tree at you with great finesse!

Hey, don't be a downer. Weird can be fun.

Lots of points. If you miss with one, you can twist the shaft and get them with another. (Also, elves.)

Maybe not disarm, but from that vid I would absolutely give it the Distracting property, with all the jingling and wobbling around.

Such a weird weapon. I love it, and am happy to finally have an idea of what it looks like.
Doesn't seem to be a lot more information floating around ghough, sadly.
